Introduction
Good day to everyone, a week had passed in the city and it's time to update the progress of my city and the things that happen in the city. In today's post, I would like to discuss on how I can progress and develop my city. I think compared to the many established players, I am still in the infancy phase of this game.
What is dCity?
The game is a city simulator game based on Hive NFTs where one can create a city the way we want it to be. As players develop and grow their cities, optimization is needed in terms of buildings, city population, the income that the city yields and technological developments. While many aspects of the game can be calculated based on the simulator within the game, there is a portion of randomness in the form of crisis event which can bring different kind of impact to city which affects income or popularity. If you like the original SimCity, I am sure you will like this.
My City
The below screenshot is how my city looks like at this moment. No new additions this week and my city remained at 15 bubbles. I have sold a couple of young citizens this week and gotten a small increase in SIM which I am thankful to help me continue strengthen my SIM power.
Unemployment remained at 4 pax, so I will need to look into adding a new building to my city soon to utilize these workers so that they don't idle in the city. I have made a bid but so far yet been fulfilled. The wait goes on for a new building to ensure these 4 citizens have something to do and contribute to the city.
Development
I've did some reading and find that there are some basic infrastructure that I need to include in my city as a base for my city for long term growth. For now, I am using a short term growth methodology shared to me by my mentor @ryosai. But a city still need to be functioning proper as a whole with a proper backbone.
Law Firm
I was running through the cards available in game and this card caught my eye. Many of our tax refund card are discrete tax reduction but this card is different, it cuts the tax by a percentage and this will come in handy when the city becomes larger. A card that needs to be bought to benefit the city as a whole.
Current Pricing: 11776 SIM
Social Aid Office
When managing a city, as it established, there will be increase in social support cost. So in view of that, we need to find ways to reduce it. This card while it is able to reduce social support cost by 100, we need sufficient workers in them to make them functional. Also to take note, this is a building that does not generate income and mainly there to reduce social support cost.
Current Pricing: 42000 SIM
Research Centre
Something that I've mentioned in earlier post in order to start getting the city to progressed in terms of technology. Definitely one for the long term because it is like the brain of the city. While the card itself is not exactly costly, 18 workers itself will not come cheap.
Current Price: 1174 SIM
So for my city to progress on long terms, these are the 3 cards that I am looking into right now and trying to save up without affecting SIM power too much.
Current SIM Holdings
At the moment of writing, the current amount of SIM I am holding has reached 122,705 SIM. Quite a decent increase as I continue to increase the holdings because of young citizen sales.
Why Hold SIM?
This is reminder to all that holding SIM (or commonly known as SIM Power) brings about daily liquid hive if one having above 8000 SIM Power. SIM Power is calculated by the from the 30 days average SIM holdings.
With the increase in SIM in my Hive Engine, my 30 day average is will likely see a few days of Sim Power increase. Amount of liquid Hive per day based on current 30 day average is as seen below:
Assuming no increase in Sim Power, I will get 0.69 liquid Hive per month. The numbers continue to increase and building towards the goal I had for using the liquid Hive to fund for Hive Power Up Day. At this moment, it look a little far-fetch, however as I continue to grow, one day I know I will reach there.
Closing
City building is a long term task. While being able to jump start my account with some help, the growing of it to become sustainable and sizeable need more effort to make it happen. I am planning accordingly preparing how to grow steadily as I progress in this game.
Special thanks to @ryosai for always answering my questions on the game, guiding me through with your patience and even helping me with my city growth.
Looking forward to the journey of growing the city!
