Hello friends, I hope you are doing well. Welcome to my new post. Different countries in our world have different rituals. It is normal for each country to have a different culture. People in each country have different history, traditions, and social events. Many people have been observing these traditional events for thousands of years. A different event for our Bengalis is applying turmeric on their wedding ceremony. We know that this is a simple process. The turmeric ceremony has been practiced in our country for thousands of years. Since ancient times, this turmeric ceremony has been observed in our country. Especially in our Indian subcontinent, there are many traditions. The turmeric ceremony is very popular and it is known as one of the most important events for me and the people of my country.

Bengali wedding is a social event. Like other rituals, Bengali weddings are celebrated with great joy and celebration. It can be said that this is a part of Bengali wedding. I will tell you in detail how it is celebrated. First of all, applying turmeric on the wedding ceremony is known as the first step in Bengali weddings. The ceremony of applying turmeric on the body is performed for both boys and girls. Before that, relatives are invited for the ceremony. In our country, in the ceremony of applying turmeric on the body, relatives and neighbors are invited by the boy or the girl to come and apply turmeric on the body.

In the Bengali wedding ceremony of applying turmeric on the body, the houses are decorated a lot. It is decorated in different ways. Many people decorate their houses with banana leaves, paper, and alpana, decorate the pandals, and the boy or girl is dressed very beautifully. In the case of boys, it is seen that Punjabi pajamas are worn, Dhoti Punjabi is worn, and in the case of girls, it is seen that sarees are worn. This trend has been prevalent for a long time.

Then they are made to sit on the ground, and some are made to sit on beds made of straw. However, nowadays different types of pandals are made and the ceremony of applying turmeric on the body is celebrated there. However, nowadays, the situation is still the same in rural weddings. After placing the bride or groom, the ceremony of applying turmeric on them begins. Various ingredients are kept in front. One of these is turmeric, sweets, various fruits, incense, lamps are lit. Also, in our country, different areas have different customs for different things.

However, after that, relatives and neighbors start smearing turmeric on the wedding boy or girl one by one. Then they are fed sweets. This is how the turmeric ceremony continues. There are many women in the village who usually present the traditional wedding songs of our country there. In Bengali, it is called ..geet.. Those who apply turmeric usually give various gifts. Again, many give money. At that time, there is a festival of joy all around, many people dance and dance. I like to see it. This is a traditional ceremony of our Bengalis. I hope you will like this post of mine.

Awwwn, so nice but what is the reason for the tumeric applying. It's to make the bride have a clean face before entering into his husband house. But it will be fun.

😁I can't say exactly why. But I think it's used to increase the glow of the body.

This is definitely a good tradition, one that keeps culture alive. I have seen it in movies a lot of times and I don't really seem to understand it, but now I do, thanks for explaining it in such a simple and understanding way.
