Ayer fui invitado a participar en el concurso semanal de la comunidad IndiaUnited por @ladyaryastark y si bien siento que ella realizó un post que resume la mayor parte de lo que yo pudiera acosenjar a un recien llegado a #Hive, fue tan amable como para sugerirme algunas ideas para mi propio post. Así que intentaré mantener mi promesa y haré lo mejor que pueda en este post.
Debo comenzar por declarar que estoy bien lejos de ser un conoceor de #Hive y sus dinámicas de funcionamento así que en este post lo que verán es la cristalización en ideas de una mezcla de aciertos, errores y debilidades que he podido identificar en mi mismo durante mi bregar durante casi tres años en esta gran comunidad que es #Hive. De manera que mis experiencias puedan en la medida de lo posible ayudar a los nuevos a identificar su camino de crecimiento.
1. HP, HP, HP....
Hive es muy parecido al mundo físico en muchos aspectos y uno de los aspectos que más claramente podemos ver en la red es que el peso de nuestras cuentas depende directamente del capital que hemos podido acumular como HP (Hive Power). Esta es una idea que puede parecernos hasta molesta a los que tenemos una visión idealizada del mundo, pero es una realidad. La única diferencia es que en Hive las cantidades y su valor son públicas y podemos verlas en todo momento. Esta realidad nos lleva a una conclusión muy simple, la única manera real de hacer crecer nuestro impacto en la red es acumulado HP, la cuestión es cómo.
Acá hay mucha tela y voy a tratar de organizar más o menos las cosas, aunque todo está más o menos interconectado...
Lo primero es organizarnos, a mi me ayuda establecer metas, a corto, mediano y largo plazo. La magnitud de los plazos y las metas será decisión de cada cuál, según le funcione mejor, yo intento ponerme cantidades de HP a lograr mensual, anual y general. Mi recomendación es que sean sinceros con uds mismos, no se pongan metas inalcanzables, eso solo lleva a la frustración, pero tampoco irrisorias, eso limitará el potencial de sus cuentas para crecer. Ajusten sus metas a su realidad, y si no la alcanzan no pasa nada, retoman en la próxima etapa. Lo importante es mantener la tenacidad.
Sobre este aspecto otra recomendación es tratar de de destinar todo lo que generen en la red a HP al menos en las primeras etapas y no desesperarse, cada quien tiene su propio proceso y velocidad en Hive, no te compares con nadie, ni pierdas la esperanza. El camino se va haciendo más simple a medida que avanzas.
Ok, dedico todo lo que gano a HP, ¿pero hasta cuando?
Esta es una decisión personal, yo recomiendo unos 5000 HP, si estás empezando esta puede parecer una meta imposible. LLeva paciencia y compromiso, yo como les decía llevo ya casi tres años acá y aún no llego ni al 20% de eso. Pero aquí sigo, intentando y aprendiendo en el camino. Una meta intermedia son los 1200 HP, a partir de este momento las recompensas por curaciones comienzan a ser palpables y permiten comenzar a ver como la bola de nieve de las recomensas se va formando. Esta puede ser tu meta personal si crees que 5000 es demasiado para ti. Pero ojo, no significa que cuando la alcances vas a dejar de acumular, solo que vas a dejar de acumular todo, a partir de este momento podrás comenzar a utilizar tus recompensas en otros aspectos, que puedas necesitar/desear. Muy importante, yo no soy quien para decirte que hacer con tu dinero, la decisión final depende siempre de ti, pero si decides hacer algo como lo que comento acá vas a necesitar mucha disciplina. Esta es una de esas conclusiones extraidas de errores y fracasos.
1.1 Gracias al programador por las delegaciones
Una función muy interesante de Hive es que permite la delegación tanto de HP, como de RC (Resource Credits), ahora bien, la delegación de RC es una función super poderosa para los que recien comienzan. Te dá cierta capacidad de maniobra y permite comenzar a involucrarse en la red si recibes una. Pero tiene limitaciones desde el punto de vita de las curaciones y las recompensas, es por eso que llegado el momento, sera muy beneficioso obtener delegaciones de HP, hay algunas opciones para obtener delegaciones y @ladyaryastark en su participación mencionó algunas. Siempre es positivo incrementar el HP controlado, pero ten presente que si bien la delegación de HP es una muy buena opción para incrementar el peso en la red, el HP delegado no es propio y está siempre sugeto a que el delegador reclame su HP, así que aprovechalo en la medida de lo posible para hacer crecer tu propio HP.
Ahora bien, he hablado de acumular HP, metas, cronogramas y disciplina, pero la pregunta es cómo hacemos para ganar ese tan deseado HP? Me temo que esta es la parte en la que los decepciono, no creo que haya una fórmula de éxito escrita e infalible, al menos, si la hay, yo no la conozco aún. Si la descubren por favor compartanla. Pero si hay algunas cosas que en mi criterio podrán ayudar a mejorar los resultados en la red. #Hive recompensa por capital y por trabajo. Si tienes fondos de capital, ya sea fiat o en otra cripto y puedes invertir en los diferentes sistemas de inversión de la block chain tendrás la mitad del camino adelantado y es posible que no necesites leer esto. Pero si como yo, necesitas arrancar de cero y acumular recompensas entonces tengo algún que otro consejo que puedo ofrecer.
2. Calidad
Es cierto que la red recompensa el trabajo, pero no te dejes atrapar por el facilismo, la red es curada manualmente por personas que se dedican a leer y analizar tu trabajo, lo que significa que los trabajos de baja calidad, las formulas facilistas y el ctrl+c, ctrol+v no te va a funcionar casi seguro. Tampoco la redacción con IA, no trates de superar al sistema. Encuentra tu nicho, algo en los que te sientas cómodo y ponle corazón.
Un detalle, la que sigue es una conclusión basada en una deficiencia mía, no lo he intentado así que puede ser una conclusión erronea, pero mi recomendación es que si tienes la posibilidad aprendas a programar. Hive necesita más desarrolladores que creadores de contenido, al menos ese es mi criterio, se creativo y desarrolla herramientas, alternativas y mecanismos que ayuden a enriquecer la red.
Es importante también que comprendas como funcionan los diferentes sistemas y mecanismos de recompensa, gobernanza y demás en la red, siempre que puedas échate un clavado en documentos que expliquen como funciona la red y de paso aprende un poco de la economía que está de fondo, ayuda mucho a tomar decisiones informandas.
3. Networking
Si bien el trabajo de calidad es vital para el crecimiento en la red, no es suficiente, basta con hacer una búsqueda rápida y encontrarás varios post de calidad que no han recibido grandes recompensas y eso es porque no importa cuan bueno seas escibiendo, contando histórias o creando herramientas web, si la comunidad no te conoce, no te lee y si no te leen no te votan, es así de simple, así que uno de los elementos vitales para crecer es el networking, hay muchas formas de hacer networking.
En primera instancia, ten presente que Hive es una comunidad, así que no se trata de postear algo y olvidarte (ojalá me hubieran dado este consejo a mi cuando recién empezaba). Conecta, si una persona decidió leer tu post y te deja un compentario interactúa responde, vota su comentario siempre que sea posible. El feedback es vital para la retención del público.
Segundo, si aun no tienes discord corre a hacerte una cuenta. Una gran porción del networking de hive se hace en discord, casi todas las comunidades tienen su propio servidor de discord, así que encuentra las que te interesen, búscalas en discord y únete, interactúa, conversa y ayuda en lo que puedas. No es secreto que los que estamos en Hive buscamos recompensas, pero eso no significa que no podamos colaborar, el camino de Hive es un esfuerzo colectivo. Al final de cuentas es una comunidad, aislarse es fórmula el fracaso.
4. Se amable
No seas in imb*cil, todos llegamos a Hive por la promesa de recomepensas, pero algunos decidimos quedarnos porque lo usamos como refugio libre de la toxicidad de las redes sociales de la web 2.0, y nos gustaría mantenerlo así. Así que participa, conversa, interactúa, pero mantén la buena vibra, se educado y contructivo, incluso cuando no estés de acuerdo con algo intenta aportar y ayudar a que todos crescan. Si tu intención es usar Hive como depósito de tus frustraciones mejor repiensate tu estrategia, no creo que esa te vaya a servir de mucho por acá.
5. Constancia
Esta es la más dificil para mi, manternse activo, publicar con frecuencia, interactuar siempre que sea posible, votar, comentar, participar. Esas actividades abren puertas y crean redes de interacciones que muy probablemente serán las que te apoyen en tu crecimiento. Hacerlo frecuente y constantemente hace que la red crezca y se fortalezca. Pero lleva tiempo y no siempre tenemos tiempo suficiente. Además se necesita creatividad y esa es muy dificil de mantener cuando se está agotado. Es un reto y no siempre se puede cumplir, yo no he podido manter mi interacción en varias ocasiones y siempre que regreso, hay que empezar a recontruir la red.
6. Lee, cura, comenta y comienza de nuevo
Como decía la interacción es muy importante, es el basamento del éxito en la red y qué mejor forma de hacerlo recompensado el esfuerzo de otros. Más cuando a la vez recibes recompensas propias en el proceso. Pero claro, para que esas recomepensas realmente tengan un valor cuantificable es necesario haber incrementado antes nuestro propio HP. A partir de este momento toca tomar una decisión complicada, es algo que debería decidir cada quien. Hasta donde yo conozco hay tres cosas que puedes hacer.
Primero, encuentras un proyecto que pague por delegaciones y delega tu HP, esto tiene una ventaja, las ganancias son totalmente pasivas, algunos tienen algunas recompensas adicionales por ejemplo @ecency además de entregar las recompensas de curación de manera líquida y diariamente recompensa las delegaciones con puntos que puedes usar luego para varias funciones dentro de la app. Pero tiene dos desventajas, por un lado estás delegando tu HP de manera que tus propios votos valdrán muy poco y además se limita tu RC, o sea que puede verse afectada tu capacidad de interacción en la red.
Segundo, ünete a un trail de curaciones, así puedes curar de manera automática manteniendo tu HP contigo, desventajas la eficiencia de la curación suele ser baja y hay muy poca oportunidad para interactuar. Tu curaciones manuales (si haces alguna) serán de menor valor pues tu voting mana será siempre muy cercano al límite que hayas decidido usar.
Tercero, Cura manualmente, ventajas, puedes mantener control directo de tus estadísticas, votas lo que deseas y con el contenido que te resuene y estés de acuerdo, si entiendes los básamentos de la curación puedes alcanzar altos niveles de eficiencia de la curación maximizando las recompensas de curación que recibes. Participas e interactúas en la comunidad en el proeso. Desventajas, lleva mucho tiempo y esfuerzo, leer y dedicarse a buscar ese contenido que te gusta, te interesa.
Consejo extra, no votes por votar, si tu intención es llegar y votar los primeros post que aparezcan en tu feed, mejor usa alguna de las alternativas anteriores, si lo vas a hacer manual garantiza que se haga con calidad.

I must start by stating that I am far from being an expert on #Hive and its dynamics, so what you will see in this post is the crystallization of ideas from a mixture of successes, mistakes, and weaknesses that I have been able to identify in myself during my almost three years of struggle in this great community that is #Hive. In this way, my experiences can, as far as possible, help newcomers identify their path to growth.
1. HP, HP, HP....
Hive is very similar to the physical world in many ways, and one of the aspects that we can see most clearly in the network is that the weight of our accounts depends directly on the capital we have been able to accumulate as HP (Hive Power). This is an idea that may seem annoying to those of us who have an idealized view of the world, but it is a reality. The only difference is that in Hive, the amounts and their value are public and we can see them at any time. This reality leads us to a very simple conclusion: the only real way to grow our impact on the network is to accumulate HP. The question is how.
There is a lot to cover here, and I will try to organize things more or less, although everything is more or less interconnected...
The first thing is to get organized. It helps me to set short-, medium-, and long-term goals. The magnitude of the deadlines and goals will be up to each individual, depending on what works best for them. I try to set monthly, annual, and overall HP amounts to achieve. My recommendation is to be honest with yourselves. Don't set unattainable goals, as that only leads to frustration, but don't set ridiculous ones either, as that will limit your accounts' potential for growth. Adjust your goals to your reality, and if you don't reach them, it's okay, just pick up where you left off in the next stage. The important thing is to remain persistent.
Another recommendation in this regard is to try to allocate everything you generate on the network to HP, at least in the early stages, and not to despair. Everyone has their own process and speed on Hive, so don't compare yourself to anyone else or lose hope. The path becomes easier as you progress.
Okay, I dedicate everything I earn to HP, but for how long?
This is a personal decision. I recommend about 5,000 HP. If you are just starting out, this may seem like an impossible goal. It takes patience and commitment. As I said, I have been here for almost three years and I still haven't reached even 20% of that. But here I am, trying and learning along the way. An intermediate goal is 1,200 HP. From this point on, the rewards for curation begin to be tangible and allow you to start seeing how the snowball of rewards is forming. This can be your personal goal if you think 5,000 is too much for you. But beware, it doesn't mean that when you reach it you'll stop accumulating, just that you'll stop accumulating everything. From that point on, you can start using your rewards for other things you may need or want. Very important: I'm not here to tell you what to do with your money; the final decision is always up to you, but if you decide to do something like what I'm suggesting here, you're going to need a lot of discipline. This is one of those conclusions drawn from mistakes and failures.
1.1 Thanks to the devs for the delegations
A very interesting feature of Hive is that it allows the delegation of both HP and RC (Resource Credits). However, RC delegation is a super powerful feature for those just starting out. It gives you some room to maneuver and allows you to start getting involved in the network if you receive one. But it has limitations from the point of view of curation and rewards, which is why, when the time comes, it will be very beneficial to obtain HP delegations. There are some options for obtaining delegations, and @ladyaryastark mentioned some of them in her participation. It is always positive to increase the HP you control, but keep in mind that while HP delegation is a very good option for increasing your weight in the network, the delegated HP is not your own and is always subject to the delegator claiming their HP back, so take advantage of it as much as possible to grow your own HP.
Now, I've talked about accumulating HP, goals, timelines, and discipline, but the question is, how do we go about earning that much-desired HP? I'm afraid this is the part where I disappoint you. I don't think there is a written, foolproof formula for success. At least, if there is, I don't know it yet. If you discover it, please share it. But there are some things that, in my opinion, can help improve results on the network. #Hive rewards you for capital and for work. If you have capital funds, whether fiat or other crypto, and you can invest in the different investment systems of the blockchain, you're halfway there and you may not need to read this. But if, like me, you need to start from scratch and accumulate rewards, then I have a few tips to offer.
2. Quality
It's true that the network rewards hard work, but don't get caught up in taking the easy way out. The network is manually curated by people who read and analyze your work, which means that low-quality work, easy formulas, and ctrl+c, ctrl+v will almost certainly not work for you. Neither will AI writing. Don't try to outsmart the system. Find your niche, something you feel comfortable with, and put your heart into it.
One detail: the following is a conclusion based on a deficiency of mine. I haven't tried it, so it may be an erroneous conclusion, but my recommendation is that if you have the opportunity, learn to program. Hive needs more developers than content creators, at least in my opinion. Be creative and develop tools, alternatives, and mechanisms that help enrich the network.
It's also important to understand how the different systems and mechanisms of reward, governance, and so on work on the network. Whenever you can, dive into documents that explain how the network works and learn a little about the underlying economics. It helps a lot to make informed decisions.
3. Networking
While quality work is vital for growth on the network, it is not enough. Just do a quick search and you will find several quality posts that have not received great rewards, and that is because no matter how good you are at writing, storytelling, or creating web tools, if the community does not know you, they will not read you, and if they do not read you, they will not vote for you. It is that simple. So one of the vital elements for growth is networking, and there are many ways to network.
First, keep in mind that Hive is a community, so it's not about posting something and forgetting about it (I wish someone had given me this advice when I was just starting out). Connect. If someone decides to read your post and leaves a comment, interact with them and respond. Vote on their comment whenever possible. Feedback is vital for audience retention.
Second, if you don't have Discord yet, hurry up and create an account. A large part of Hive's networking is done on Discord. Almost all communities have their own Discord server, so find the ones that interest you, search for them on Discord, and join, interact, chat, and help in any way you can. It's no secret that those of us on Hive are looking for rewards, but that doesn't mean we can't collaborate. The Hive path is a collective effort. At the end of the day, it's a community, and isolating yourself is a recipe for failure.
4. Keep it Nice
Don't be an a*hole, we all came to Hive for the promise of rewards, but some of us decided to stay because we use it as a refuge from the toxicity of Web 2.0 social media, and we'd like to keep it that way. So participate, talk, interact, but keep the good vibes, be polite and constructive, even when you disagree with something, try to contribute and help everyone grow. If your intention is to use Hive as a dumping ground for your frustrations, you better rethink your strategy, I don't think that's going to do you much good here.
5. Constancy
This is the hardest part for me: staying active, posting frequently, interacting whenever possible, voting, commenting, participating. These activities open doors and create networks of interactions that will most likely support your growth. Doing this frequently and consistently makes the network grow and strengthen. But it takes time, and we don't always have enough time. It also requires creativity, which is very difficult to maintain when you are exhausted. It is a challenge and cannot always be achieved. I have not been able to maintain my interaction on several occasions, and whenever I return, I have to start rebuilding the network.
6. Read, curate, comment... start over
As I said, interaction is very important; it is the foundation of success on the network, and what better way to do it than by rewarding the efforts of others? Especially when you receive your own rewards in the process. But of course, for those rewards to really have a quantifiable value, you first need to have increased your own HP. At this point, you have to make a difficult decision, something that each person must decide for themselves. As far as I know, there are three things you can do.
First, find a project that pays for delegations and delegate your HP. This has an advantage: the earnings are completely passive, and some have additional rewards, for example @ecency, which, in addition to delivering curation rewards in liquid form, rewards delegations daily with points that you can then use for various functions within the app. But it has two disadvantages: on the one hand, you are delegating your HP so that your own votes will be worth very little, and on the other hand, your RC is limited, which means that your ability to interact on the network may be affected.
Second, join a curation trail, so you can curate automatically while keeping your HP with you. The disadvantages are that the efficiency of curation is usually low and there is very little opportunity to interact. Your manual curations (if you do any) will be of lesser value because your voting mana will always be very close to the limit you have decided to use.
Third, curate manually. Advantages: you can maintain direct control of your statistics, vote for what you want and with content that resonates with you and that you agree with. If you understand the basics of curation, you can achieve high levels of curation efficiency, maximizing the curation rewards you receive. You participate and interact with the community in the process. Disadvantages: it takes a lot of time and effort to read and search for content that you like and are interested in.
Extra tip: don't vote just for the sake of voting. If your intention is to just vote on the first posts that appear in your feed, it's better to use one of the above alternatives. If you're going to do it manually, make sure you do it with quality.
