If it was possible for me to rewind the hands of the clock and go back to my early adult years, I swear I would pay any price just to be able to do that.
Sadly, life is not like that. It is all in my head, hehe. But what if, just what if there was a means of communication between my current older self to my previous younger self? Would I still be interested in trying it out?
My answer is subjective as it depends on whether my younger self will really get the message I'm trying to pass across. But who I'm I fooling, time lost can never be regained.
There will never be another yesterday. There will never be another last hour. All we can do is look towards the future and forge ahead. But as a response to the #indiaunited prompt, I'd like to pen down some messages that I'd like to say to my younger self, in view of what I’ve come to know both experientially and more.
Dear mini me,
Hey girl, how are you holding up? I know that the struggle is beginning to get tougher and you feel overwhelmed by the weight of this burden.
I know that life took a turn for the worst without your knowledge. It feels like the castle walls you've tried so hard to build is now falling like a pack of cards.
I know you are scared, hurt and wounded, physically, emotionally and psychologically. I also know that you are angry with the world because you don't know who to trust neither do you understand why things are going the way they are — against your well thought out plans.
But I want you to know that this phase of life will pass and not only that, it will usher you into a beautiful new chapter of your life. A chapter where you are in control of your own fate. A chapter where you no longer look up to people for validation. A chapter where you've got your identity covered and you are grounded in your faith.
Life might be tough now but it will turn out beautiful soon enough. You just need to hold on to your convictions and your faith. Keep being passionate about your goals and dreams. Moreso, watch out for that gift which brings you so much joy when you use them and seek to grow in it.
You will encounter many betrayals and hurts but don't let those wicked acts from wicked people change the goodness in you. Best of all, never lose your smile for it is that spark that lightens the dull world of others when you come into their space.
Cherish good friendships, don't let a good friend go, for they'll be your shade in times of a storm. Love God and be devoted to Him more than anything else. His plans are always good.
Believe in yourself. Like yourself and your body shape. It will get better with time. Don't be afraid to try new things or leave your comfort zone. You are made for more. It is in you to be great and you can win if you don't relent.
P:S : Don't worry but be happy. Also eat a lot, if you want to or feel like it, you won't get fat.
