Today dawned calmly with the routine of every day, the human and cat breakfasts, everything was going as it should. My eldest daughter was at work for the day, so I was at home; when suddenly, I noticed that Simba Raspicuim, was walking strangely coming out of his sandbox, licking his butt, but when we took a good look, we realized that it was as if he had feces stuck and Simba couldn't clean himself. So, thinking he needed help, I grabbed him and told my daughter to get some sanitary wipes to clean him up....
But when we tried to clean it, we realized that it didn't come off and on the contrary, when we tried to remove it, more came out; my daughter started to scream very scared, then I gave her the cat and tried to see what she had and when I saw that it wasn't feces, I got nervous; while Simba Raspicuim, meowed in alarm, it was moments of running without knowing what to do, the first thing that came to my mind was to try to immobilize him, so he wouldn't pull it, thinking that maybe it was his intestines, we were terrified.
We called my friend @actioncats my advisor regarding my cats, and she told us that those were not his intestines, as far as she could tell from the pictures I sent her. This was all going on as we quickly got dressed and rushed him to the vet; it was a very tense few hours. Fortunately, the vet was relatively close to home; we arrived very quickly while on the way we were informing the other members of the family, my husband and youngest son, about the situation.
When we arrived to the vet's office we asked for immediate attention and at once a very kind girl came out, she was the vet doctor, she checked him in detail and told us that what Simba Raspicuim had hanging from his backside was like a plastic bag or something similar and that we had to examine him better to extract it and make sure that there was not something else... We were scared to death, but the doctor reassured us, telling us that it was serious, but not that serious. We had to wait for her to finish taking care of another patient she left while she examined Simba thinking it was an emergency.
So we waited for Simba's turn, which was after the patient he had on duty. When she entered the examination room, she passed by my youngest daughter, who had come running to check on her beloved cat, so my oldest daughter and I waited. Then the doctor sent us in to explain what had happened and what she had gotten. It turned out to be an envoplast plastic, the one used to wrap meat, because he had swallowed it thinking that there was meat and it was stuck in his belly, fortunately he had expelled it through his rectum, otherwise surgery would have been necessary.
They sedated him a little and put him on pain medication. By the time my daughter and I went in, he was already out, just resting, they sent us other medications for home and a special diet for him for a few days. In the emergency we spent 40 $ without putting in the new diet and all for having an extremely gluttonous and naughty kitten. That is why I recommend you to be careful with bags, plastic bags, containing meat or chicken leftovers because they are a trap for gluttons like Simba Raspicuim. It was the scare of the day. Here I share with you his photos of the whole process. Greetings friends!

Saludos amigos!
