Mi misterio favorito desde que estaba niña, y con el que fui creciendo simultáneamente junto con mi curiosidad por conocer más acerca de él, fue la cultura egipcia. ¿El porqué de este interés tan particular? Todas las características e información acerca de la vida de los faraones, religión, rituales, y costumbres que fui adquiriendo desde mis primeros pasos por su aprendizaje, dejaron en mí una sensación enigmática y el deseo de indagar más acerca de sus secretos.

Muchas interrogantes quedaron revoloteando en mi mente cuando era adolescente, y estudiaba la civilización egipcia en Historia Universal. Los profesores nos hablaban de gigantescas pirámides y monumentales estatuas que construían aquellos hombres, pero que hasta ahora siguen siendo un misterio, tanto en su interior como en la manera de levantarlas.

La civilización egipcia data de miles de años antes de Cristo, y aún esas edificaciones permanecen intactas de pie. ¿Cómo las hacían? ¿De qué manera podían aquellos hombres levantar esos inmensos bloques para colocarlos en correcta simetría y que quedaran alineados de una forma tan perfectamente geométrica, de ahí la expresión, forma piramidal.

Aún ese proceso sigue siendo un misterio a pesar de que han arrojado cientos de hipótesis, en sí, no existe ninguna teoría que compruebe la forma de edificar esas monumentales estructuras. De la misma manera sucede con tantas historias narradas acerca de faraones, momias, templos, rituales, sacrificios, y muchos secretos ocultos detrás de la vida de aquellos antiguos pobladores.

Por ejemplo, la historia de Tutankamón, que ha sido una de las que más me ha llamado la atención, cuya muerte a su escasa adolescencia se vio envuelta en un turbio suceso familiar del que se cuentan aún diferentes versiones, desde asesinato hasta muerte por malaria. El niño rey, como se le llamaba, se determinó que su tumba jamás fue profanada, y fue hallado con muchas incongruencias indescifrables en su cadáver, como el de su miembro momificado en forma erecta, que guarda relación con una situación religiosa con respecto a su padre. Aún estas versiones no han sido comprobadas.

¿Cómo los antiguos egipcios podían conservar sus muertos en perfecto estado? ¿Qué hay de cierto acerca de las momias vivientes? ¿Realmente podían regresar a sus muertos del más allá a través de rituales? Cada pirámide guarda muchos secretos, desde su forma y lo que oculta en su interior, hasta los mensajes grabados en sus paredes a través de jeroglíficos.

Los investigadores no descansan en su empeño por descifrar todos los misterios de la antigua civilización egipcia, pero los años pasan y a pesar de los avances tecnológicos, las bien edificadas paredes de sus pirámides no les han dejado saber qué se esconde detrás de ellas, pero se supone que son habitaciones donde se resguardaron momias, tesoros, y otros secretos que no deseaban que fueran revelados.

My favorite mystery since I was a child, and the one I grew up with simultaneously with my curiosity to know more about it, was the Egyptian culture. Why this particular interest? All the characteristics and information about the life of the pharaohs, religion, rituals, and customs that I acquired from my first steps in their learning, left in me an enigmatic sensation and the desire to investigate more about their secrets.

Many questions remained fluttering in my mind when I was a teenager, and I studied Egyptian civilization in World History. The professors told us about gigantic pyramids and monumental statues built by those men, but which to this day remain a mystery, both inside and in the way they were erected.

The Egyptian civilization dates back thousands of years before Christ, and those buildings are still standing intact. How did they build them? How could those men lift those immense blocks to place them in correct symmetry and align them in such a perfectly geometrical way, hence the expression, pyramidal shape.

Even this process remains a mystery despite the fact that hundreds of hypotheses have been put forward, in fact, there is no theory that proves how these monumental structures were built. The same happens with so many stories told about pharaohs, mummies, temples, rituals, sacrifices, and many secrets hidden behind the lives of those ancient inhabitants.

For example, the story of Tutankhamun, which has been one of the ones that most caught my attention, whose death in his early teens was involved in a murky family event of which there are still different versions, from murder to death by malaria. The boy king, as he was called, it was determined that his tomb was never desecrated, and he was found with many indecipherable incongruities in his corpse, such as his mummified erect limb, which is related to a religious situation with respect to his father. These versions have not yet been verified.

How could the ancient Egyptians keep their dead in perfect condition? What is true about living mummies? Could they really return their dead from the afterlife through rituals? Each pyramid holds many secrets, from its shape and what it hides inside, to the messages engraved on its walls through hieroglyphics.

Researchers do not rest in their efforts to decipher all the mysteries of the ancient Egyptian civilization, but the years pass and despite technological advances, the well-built walls of their pyramids have not let them know what is hidden behind them, but it is assumed that they are rooms where mummies, treasures, and other secrets that they did not want to be revealed were kept.
