Namaste!
2 days ago I was at my in-laws place and went for a stroll in their backyard in the evening where they have hardly 10-12 plants now but I remember initially a few years back they had around 500 plants on the big terrace of their old house. My in-laws always loved plants but then they started having health problems and it became difficult for them to take care of the plants so slowly they gave away all their plants to people.
Some of his plants which had grown into trees in the pots were with him for 30-40 years. He had given me about a dozen rose plants and also given me my biggest Adenium plant and lemon tree. I used to get my initial gardening lessons from him and even now I can solve many of my gardening-related problems with his guidance.
Well, right now there are some plants in his backyard that are flourishing very well despite not getting much care from him but my attention fell on this tiny tomato-like plant growing in a crack on the wall and like always, Google Lens told me that it is not a tomato but a black nightshade plant.
Although it looks like a miniature² tomato plant because of the shape of its flowers, fruits and leaves, it is actually a weed that often grows in a similar way in any shaded place and it has a lot of health benefits too, but obviously with some conditions and precautions which you must read about before even thinking of using it yourself.
But apart from all that, what attracted me was that both its fruit and flower looked like tomatoes. Even though I knew that it was a weed, I was excited to taste its fruit, so I tasted a tiny tomato and my mouth became completely bitter, the problem is that it was not ripe yet, which can be understood from its bright green colour, but anyway, I liked the cute looks of this plant, so as always, I tried to take some good pictures of it with my phone. I hope you liked this Discovery and my Phone Photography!😊
