Hello Hive family. I hope you all are doing well.
Today I am going to share a glimpse of my daily life as an orchardist, the work I am currently doing in the fields and some pictures taken during the day.
My day begins early in the morning. As the sun begins to rise. The cool mountain air fills my lungs as I prepare for another day in my apple orchard. These days pruning work is going on in the orchard.
Pruning is an essential task in apple farming. It helps in ensuring proper sunlight to the trees and improves the quality of the fruits. With pruning shears in hand, I roam around the orchard and inspect the trees. Some branches need to be cut to promote better air flow while others need to be trimmed to direct the energy of the tree towards the fruit-bearing branches. It is a slow but satisfying process.
Apart from the apple trees, I had planted peas in the month of December and now it is time to weed them. The weeds are growing fast so I will weed them out soon after the pruning work is done.
Tending to different crops keeps me busy and connected to nature.
After a long day in the fields, I go for a walk in the woods with my dog in the evening and enjoy the simple beauty of nature.
