The first half of the year was pretty crazy for me and not necessarily because I was too busy (I was to some extent), but the bigger problem was that I had a lot of problems with my fat and there were things holding me up. Those problems have been solved (I'd like to think so) and now I can focus on trading and also on my creative projects in my spare time, when the market is sh*t (like today).
I'm behind with posting the wonderful textile art photos I took months ago, which is a shame honestly as I know some of you like these and are inspired as well, so let's see what I have for you today.
Cinderella
This was a very nice piece from the solo exhibition of Ilona Sajgó. I have posted about this exhibition here and here. If you have missed these posts, I recommend you to check them out, especially if you like textile art. The work of this artist are exceptional and can honestly say, one of my most favorites.
There are a few things to note here. One is that the whole work is made of colored lace. Different colors put together to get Cinderella. This denoted delicacy in a way, or at least that's what I think. The second thing that I need to note here is how the artist depicted Cinderella. The legs and the body are ok you can say, even though it's not a regular human body (not that a regular human body would be the goal here) to some extent, but the head is not there, or maybe the face, but what lets you thin it's the head is the long hair. It's something unique and I've never seen before.
Ancient Creek
This is too regular for me, too symmetrical and can't really see why it was named ancient creek. I'm wondering if you see more than I see. let me know.
Erzsébet Bíró Török - Bird Song
We're changing style here as these artworks are from the annual textile exhibition and are not from the same artist. This is a wall cloth, hand woven and I love how the artist designed some kind of trees, or bushes and the bird.
Quite often I am trying to figure out what I would have done in the artist's place, having only the title and taking it from there. I think I'd better not want to know and neither want you :D.
Livia Ramona Petrescu - Green 1. 2., 3.
This was a mix of felt and other fabric, a set of 3 together.
There are three works here, but not all from the same artist. Most likely you can figure out on your own, how many artists we're talking about and which artworks belonging to which artist, if not, here it is, from left to right:
1. Mária Nádudvary - Autumn's Anatomy 2
2. Ana-Maria Rugescu - From The Drone
3. Mária Nádudvary - Autumn's Anatomy 1
The two Autumn's Anatomy works are nice and maybe they would have a different effect on me, but flaking From The Drone makes them less important for me.
From The Drone is a fantastic work and won me over the minute I saw it.
If you have ever flown by airplane, you know this is what the ground looks like from up there. Land plots look this small and forest of lakes look like some of the elements used by the artist.
I don't know about you, but I love it. I love looking down before the plain is landing and admire the picturesque view and I love this artwork too. Simple, but understandable. If I were to choose, this one would be one of my choices.
My question to the artist would be, if she had a photo taken from an actual, real place, or this is the creation of her imagination. I guess we'll never know. Not that it changes anything.
Mirela Mészáros - Identity
This is actually canvas, but not painted. I suppose it's print, but I'm not sure. It's interesting, but not really my style.
Mirela Mészáros - Identity
Same style, different layout as the photos in the bottom row are upside down.
This is it for the day, I hope you have some favorites here.
