Three Tune Tuesday

Three Tune Tuesday, but I only have two songs to share, but still wanted to contribute today 😄

My childhood... was quite a tumultuous one! 😅 I grew up in a broken family from the age of 3, I dreaded every visit to my grandfather's, my stepfather left us traumatized ... All the while, it felt like I had nothing and no one. It was a very isolating period of my life...

Some of my family, particularly my aunt, loved listening to a popular local radio station. The host loved playing artist Josh Groban 😄 And, if you're familiar with Groban, then you remember his most famous song, You Raise Me Up.

However, this isn't the song I wish to recall.

The song that I remember hearing most often, in my most troubling times, is the song You Are Loved. As a kid, upon hearing it, I would simply just make fun of it -- ANY song by Groban was a call to ridicule! 😅 Despite how alone I felt as a child, I never truly bothered to take in the lyrics, no matter how often it played for me.

I have not heard this song since I was about 13, yet for whatever inexplicable reason, it popped into my head for the very first time a few days ago. So I actually went and just sat with the song this time... and I realize that it is God. Like, obviously we all recognize that Groban is portraying God because that's the kind of music he makes, but it was God calling out to me the whole time -- and I refused to listen... How desperately I wanted to stop feeling such deeply negative emotions -- to be clinically depressed at age 12 -- and the entire time God was with me, as He always is. If only I had tried to seek Him sooner...

"It's just the weight of the world. It's just the hurt that you hide. When your heart's heavy, I will lift it for you. If darkness blinds you, I will shine to guide you. Don't give up, because you are loved."

"It's just weight of the world..." How desperately I had tried to escape from it, to join my home in Heaven... and God was with me the entire time. Praise be to God! 🙏✝️
