Hello dear Hivers! 💖 I hope you're all doing well ☺️ I'm @wanderelle and I'm so happy to share with you my life stories.

So, this trip was actually a last-minute kind of thing. I already booked a place to stay, but my friend who was supposed to come couldn't make it. Instead of just letting the booking go, I thought, "Hey, why not invite my sister and cousin instead?" Good thing they were free! We ended up going on a weekend, and we got there in the evening 'cause I waited for my cousin to finish work. It was a quick getaway, you know, just to relax.

Our accommodation was super cozy! Our room had everything we needed: Wi-Fi, a TV with Netflix (which was perfect for movie night!), and a warm shower (a must-have for Tagaytay's cold weather). We even had kitchen appliances and utensils, making our mornings easy with some bread and coffee for breakfast. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The first night was chill. We just watched a movie and played some board games. We even watched the horror movie The Orphan from Netflix! It was really nice just hanging out, no rush. The next morning, it was a bit foggy outside our room, and you could see these beautiful pine trees. I took some pictures 'cause it was just so pretty.

The real showstopper, however, was the overlooking view of Taal Volcano from the top floor of our accommodation. We spent a good amount of time there and took some photos. It’s always breathtaking to see Taal, no matter how many times you visit.

For lunch, we just went with the flow and ended up at Bulalo Capital. You can't go to Tagaytay without having bulalo, right? We had Bulalo, and it was just perfect for the cold weather. Super comforting! We also got some Sisig to share.

After that delicious meal, we dropped by Starbucks Tagaytay. Of course, we had to get our Frappuccinos and take those classic Starbucks-in-Tagaytay pics! Our whole day was pretty much unplanned, which made it even more fun.

We noticed that Tagaytay can get pretty traffic-heavy in the afternoon, especially on weekends. So, if you wanna see more places, try to go in the morning. We got there in the evening, and there was no traffic, but then you don't get to maximize your day much.

Just in case you're planning to visit Tagaytay, here's a quick guide:

If you're using a private car, it usually takes about 2-3 hours from Metro Manila, depending on the traffic. Going through CALAX (Cavite-Laguna Expressway) route makes the journey significantly faster than the usual roads.

If you're going by public transport:

  • From Metro Manila: You can take a bus from various terminals like PITX (Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange) or Coastal Mall to Tagaytay. Look for buses bound for Nasugbu, Batangas, or Mendez, as these usually pass through Tagaytay. Travel time can be around 2-3 hours, depending on traffic.

  • Getting around Tagaytay: Once you're there, you can hire tricycles or jeeps to get to different attractions. Ride-sharing apps might also be an option in some areas.

Even though our trip was largely unplanned, it turned out to be the perfect quick getaway. Sometimes, the best trips are those where you just go with the flow and enjoy the company. Spending time with family, enjoying the cool Tagaytay air, eating good food, and just relaxing. It was definitely a trip full of good vibes and unforgettable moments.
