It's Saturday, which means it's #beersaturday, not that you need an excuse to drink a beer of course! Today though is a new beer for a new year.
And what a start to the new year with my team Rangers humping the enemy Celtic in their ground earlier today 🤣
Time for a DOUBLE HAZY IPA
What sort of glass do you like your IPAs in? Or come to think of it what sort of glass do you like any beer in?
I was brought up with the tall pint glass, either one with the neck bulge like this one or a straight one. None of those jug types for me!
I was in Aldi when I wanted some Christmas beers and saw this one @ 7.2% and it was very reasonably priced!
Loving the Anti-Establishment part!
It looked like a BrewDog name and branded can, but I was not sure if it was or not.

The Anti Establishment Double Hazy IPA is one of the "heavy hitters" in Aldi's craft beer range. It is widely considered a "copycat" or homage to BrewDog’s Double Hazy Jane.
So it is more a homage to BrewDog than a BrewDog brew!
Remember I said it was a beer for Aldi well it is widely reported to be brewed by Williams Bros. Brewing Co. based in Alloa, up here in Scotland. I know them as they make the light but malty Fraoch Heather Ale.
The Beer ... 🍺 DOUBLE HAZY IPA
The Basics
ABV: 7.2% (making it a "Double" or Imperial IPA).
Brewery: While sold under Aldi’s own-brand label, it is widely reported to be brewed by Williams Bros. Brewing Co. based in Alloa, Scotland. You might recognize them as the same folks who make Fraoch Heather Ale.
Style: New England / Hazy DIPA. It’s unfiltered, which gives it that signature cloudy, "hazy" appearance.
Tasting Notes
Flavour Profile: It is very fruit-forward. You’ll get strong hits of tropical fruits (pineapple and mango) and stone fruits (peach/apricot), with a slight lime-like tang on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Because it's a Double IPA, it has a thicker, more "juicy" mouthfeel than a standard lager or session IPA. It’s smooth but definitely carries a bit of a "boozy" warmth due to the higher alcohol content.
Sweetness vs. Bitterness: It leans more towards the sweet and juicy side rather than the piney, bitter finish you find in traditional West Coast IPAs.
Style: New England Double IPA (DIPA)
Alcohol Content: 7.2% ABV
Volume: 440ml can
Key Features: Brewed with oats and wheat for a hazy appearance and smooth delivery, and dry-hopped for a tropical fruit flavour profile.
My Verdict
Fluffing smooth and I enjoyed it, talk about tasty! You had the Hazy appearance and I found it refreshingly fruity without being a fruit punch so to speak.
It went equally well or without food.
The 7.2% was a pleasant punch too, and at around a couple of quid a can, it was ridiculously cheap!
