ArcadeColony : Trying Blackjack at Stakehouse Den.
While playing Moonkarts, I have to wait for the queue for the player to join the game. Between this wait time, I decided to explore the game of the Stakehouse Den. Stakehouse Den is the online web3 casino gaming platform in which there are 3 games currently Roulette, video Blackjack, and slots. Though game is in Beta mode, so currently there is no play to earn rewards but I guess that game will be Productionized soon then "play2earn" rewards will be start soon.
I will say that if you are really interested in playing these games in the StakeHouseDen web casino game then I will suggest to buy some Lady Luck Packs from the game. Though these packs are available on the secondary market too (Hive-Engine) but buying it from the game , using SCRIPT token is most cheapest method, provided that you buy the SCRIPT token using Tribaldex . Make sure to check/set slippage , so that you can avoid surprises in the token swapping. After opening these packs, you can stake these cards for rewards (hot sauce) when game got productionized.
Out of these 3 games in the platform, I decided to go for the Blackjack.
It is no doubt that all casino games are luck based games but I feel Blackjack has both luck and strategic input. It give me feel of taking a decision though whatever the outcome. If you are "ultra" lucky then you might get a "Blackjack" (21 points in first 2 cards) without even have to decide whether you should "HIT" for third card or so on to continue the play.
But luck is not always on your side and sometime you have to take calculative risk, so as you see in the above screenshot, when I got total of 7 in first 2 card, I "HIT" for the third card. Third card was "8" and it bought my total to 15. At this juncture I have to take a decision, whether I should go for another card or not. I used my probability common sense , that if I do "HIT" , my probability to remain under 21 is 6/13 , less than 50%.
So I let it go.
But I lost this game as dealer make score of "20", so clearly luck was not on my side at this tough position. I feel it is very hard to take decision when your total to 2 cards is between 14 to 17 and dealer is also having under 10 as it's first card. Whole game at this juncture will depend upon the second card that dealer will get.
In the different scenario, I got total of 2 cards as 11 and confidently went for "HIT" that make my total 20. At total of 20 , my probability of losing the game is 1/21 that is less than 5%, so I decided to "Stay" in the game.
This time probability calculation helped me and I won this Blackjack game.
Here is my luck, but if you are still wondering that why I have not "HIT" when my total was 15 and take chances then you will understand by below screenshot.
Dealer started with under 10 i.e 7 and after hitting Dealer ended with 25, that dealer got busted and I got win. though I have 19 , but I have won here even I have 15 as dealer got busted.
Also there is one more scenario in game where total match, it become "Stand off" and no one wins the match.
My 2 cents.
I have no gambling addiction and I play very occasionally and fully aware of my financial responsibility. If you have "urge" or addiction problem or thinking of that your "luck" will solve financial problem than you should stay away from these addicting games.
