Quantum Gravity Breakthrough!! MOON updates inside 👀

Rumblings have been heard around the universe, more and more moons are being created in Moon Universe 2! Battles are going on, players move up and down the ranks, and our scientists continue to process, study and analyze all the incoming data.

And it has paid off! The scientists have drafted an encyclical; pop a cold one and read up on a bit of lore behind some technical changes to how the universe now works:

A Quantum Revelation - Quantum Bounty!

For centuries, commanders across the cosmos watched as the violent aftermath of fleet engagements coalesced into new celestial bodies - moons born from the twisted metal and shattered hulls of war. It was a beautiful, terrible transformation, but one that came at a cost: the debris itself, potentially salvageable by swift and daring pilots, was consumed entirely in the gravitational crucible of moon formation.

Everything changed when the research teams at the Interstellar Institute of Quantum Mechanics made their recent breakthrough.

Deep within their orbital laboratories, studying the precise moment of lunar coalescence, the scientists discovered something extraordinary: the quantum signatures of debris existed in a state of superposition during moon formation. The matter was simultaneously consumed and preserved, collapsing into only one state due to observational interference from our standard scanning arrays.

By recalibrating fleet sensors to maintain quantum coherence throughout the formation process, they achieved the impossible. Now, when gravitational forces pull debris into a newborn moon, the material persists in both states - locked into the lunar mass while remaining available for salvage operations. The moon forms, solid and exploitable, yet the debris field remains, shimmering with quantum instability but perfectly harvestable.

This discovery has sent shockwaves through every fleet command in known space. Battle sites that once forced commanders to choose between moon formation and debris collection now offer both rewards simultaneously. The debris clouds hang in space like ghostly echoes of destruction, their quantum nature allowing them to exist alongside their gravitational offspring.

The scientists call it "quantum bounty." Commanders simply call it a gift from the cosmos; a rare moment when the universe's fundamental laws align in favor of those brave enough to venture into the aftermath of war.

So these settings have been updated accordingly, and already commanders are taking advantage of the quantum bounty in the wider universe. This is, as they say, "the good news" for just when the the scientists were celebrating this revelation.... an incoming message from the deep cosmos.....

Through the use of quantum entanglement we got this immediate emergency broadcast in just as this update was going out.

By calculating the estimated distance of the signal and its replication throughout the universe at the speed of light c.... that means that galaxy 1 will explode approximately.... at post payout, 7 days from publication of this post.

Evacuate Galaxy 1. Godspeed.

:) sounds cool! moon to the moon!

...how does one evacuate?

The idea is to get colony planets in galaxies 2-9 and withdraw your fleets from galaxy 1 as an imminent galactic threat will wipe out all planets there. This is the unique feature of this universe of Moon - definitely thank you for asking questions!

Gotcha. So I can colonize in those galaxies just like in galaxy 1

Absolutely!

Is it possible to abandon a colony? I "can only have 3 planets" says the message when I try to colonize in the other galaxy.

Sorry for the late reply! Yes, you can delete planet by clicking its name in the Overview screen, which is the same place where you would rename a planet.

I hope this helps!

Tick tack tick tack...

Just testing a little thing for myself.

So, here's a question I'll ask my scientists....

With our homeworld gone, does that mean we will choose one of our colonies to be our new home, and will that in turn give us the ability to create a new colony to replace the "promoted" one ?

Yes, it will free up a slot! Planets in-game are ordered by time of colonization, so the oldest colony left will become main planet.
