The image of God which we were created is not about the outward appearance which we carry. The image of God talks about the power, the dominion, the glory, the righteousness, the truthfulness, the holiness and many other attributes with which God is described.
The different bodies in the world are all the choices of God in creating the different creatures which he made. He made the birds of one body and then made the beasts in the forest of another. He made the fishes in the sea of one body and then made us humans of another. It was all his choice. He chose which kind of body this one should be and which kind of body that one should be. So, the kind of body we possess as humans is not what describes us as the image of God.
God is a spirit as the Bible records. Spirits don't have bodies. So the image of God which we have is not a physical body. We resemble God in our righteousness. We resemble God in love. We resemble God in dominion. We resemble God when we keep ourselves holy.
