The world is looking for God because they have refused to accept the true God. The true is the God who created the heavens and the earth. The true God manifested Himself through the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to show us the way. Many people reject him. They choose to make themselves gods. So they make for themselves gods of gold and silver. They worship creatures and forget about the Creator.
God has revealed Himself everywhere. Nothing about our God is hidden from man. All that should be known about God, He has revealed the same to man everywhere. We are inexcusable. We must accept and worship the living God.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
We should not be confused by the expression used in this verse. The devil is not the God of this world. The original text says the god of this age. The devil is not the God of the world. Jesus Christ is the God of this world. He is in charge of this world.
The power and glory of our Lord is everywhere in the world. The Bible says that the whole world shall be filled with the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. The Lord rules in the entire world and His glory and power covers the whole world.
