There will be no regrets living based on God's statutes. This however flows from understanding that this kind of life is anchored on genuine repentance, having truly given one's life to Christ. Genuine repentance is a serious business. It's not playing religion, which is going to church. But once repentance takes place a transformation begins.
A genuine hatred for sin sets in and old ways are gradually discarded. The Bible clearly states that we are all conceived in sin. But in His love and mercy sent His son Jesus Christ to take our place on the cross of Calvary where He bled and died for the forgiveness of our sin which makes us His children and give us grace to serve Him faithfully.
When you receive any appreciate God's mercy and come sincerely to pleasing Him you will discover you'll begin to lose interest in things that once attracted you. If however you still find joy and comfort in sin after claiming to have repented then you have not truly accepted salvation. You are just playing religion.
True repentance brings a desire to please God and a hatred for the tendencies of the flesh. The Law tells us what to do, reveals what is wrong and tells us what is right but it does not have the power to help you do the right thing. But in Jesus Christ, God put another law into effect and Christ came and took our place on the cross of Calvary, not only to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from unrighteousness.
