For the love i have in trying out new things i made up my mind that this won't be exceptional. Few days back i was on one of the web2's platform and my this dish caught my eye, within me i know it's something i must try out. I haven't tasted this kind of dish or anything close it, the more reason i have strong conviction i will get it right. If you don't like onion i strongly believe you will fall in love with this sauce.
Making the onion sauce i love
The ingredients that I made use of
- 400g of Onion
- 40g of spring onion
- 20g of scotch bonnet
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper (optional)
- 100ml of vegetable oil
- 400g of yam
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
I gave in to just two steps in achieving this dish, come with with let's make it.
My first step
I had to thoroughly peel and wash my onion and the yam, pound my scotch bonnet.
Second step
In a dry heated pot i poured in my vegetable oil and fried my yam. Scooped it out when it's done and in same pot same pot i add my salt, followed by my onion leaving the green part of the spring onion and then my scotch bonnet.
I added my black pepper and my the green part of my spring onion lastly.
You can serve with yam just like i did or white rice. One of my nephews do not like onion, when you make any dish he selects it and throw them away but with this sauce there was no such experience. He enjoyed the meal with no complains and i was happy he did. It tastes good.
