This time I wanted to contribute with an intentional shadow, and I found it more challenging than simply capturing a naturally occurring one. Today's shadow is a fabric pattern shaped like an eight-pointed flower. My sister was working on these pieces, and when I picked one up, I noticed the shadow it cast. I thought it would be a perfect shadow to enter. The tricky part came when trying to take the photo—placing the phone created a shadow that obscured the pattern. So the solution was to turn off all the lights and illuminate it with a flashlight while I held the fabric with my hand. I honestly loved the result and believe this is one of my favorite shadow photos; weaving is such a beautiful art.
En esta ocasión quería participar con una sombra intencional, y creo que fue más difícil que simplemente capturar una sombra que haya surgido de forma natural. La sombra de hoy es un patrón de tejido en forma de flor de 8 puntos. Mi hermana estaba trabajando en estos tejidos y, cuando tomé uno en la mano, vi la sombra que proyectaba. Así que pensé que sería una excelente sombra para participar. El problema fue al tomar la fotografía: al colocar el teléfono, la sombra proyectada por él quitaba visibilidad al patrón tejido. Así que la solución fue apagar todas las luces y alumbrar con una linterna mientras sostenía con mi mano el tejido. En verdad me gustó el resultado, y creo sin dudas que es de mis fotos de sombras favoritas. Tejer es un arte muy bonito.
