On the Roads of Viscaya

Magandang buhay!

I was cleaning my files when I found some interesting shadow photographs from last month's trip, so it's time to share them. Whenever we are on the road, I often take random pictures, and here are some of the thousands taken during a trip to Cagayan.

While they are not that sharp, I love how the tree shadows occupied the streets like grayscale doodles or something.

I wasn't aiming at the shadows on these captures, to be honest, but it was the stretchy road ahead of us. It always makes me feel expectant and excited.

But I think the shadows are pretty cool, so I had to include them.

Different trees at random spots along the streets. Some shadows of the palm branches, too!

These were taken when we pulled over on the roadside after we noticed a checkpoint ahead. The hubby decided to ask the truck's driver why most of them have stopped there.

While he was on to it, I was also capturing these. I love how the side railings appeared in the shadows.

I was trying to get a closer shot when some vehicles came into view.

And here are some more random shots while we traversed the stretchy roads of the Viscayas.

I'm sure there are plenty more from that day, but let me put a stop here, or we'd be in trouble for dumping plenty, lol!

Anyway, it's been a pretty quiet midweek for us in DD. Drizzly in the morning, but thankfully, the sky cleared up around midday, and Mister Sun showed up late in the afternoon. It came with a bit of a strong breeze. As expected, we kept ourselves indoors.

I didn't read or listen to the weather bureau, but I assumed Typhoon Tino had already left the country after ravaging most places, especially the Visayas and Mindanao. Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes, and the death toll is rising.

Nature's wrath is scary, and its impact is heartbreaking.🥲 I can only hope and pray there will be no more such disasters.🙏

Kaya nga sis. Sana wala Ng kasunod ang bagyo.
Maganda mglakad Pg ganyan ang shadow SA daan. Hindi Ka masyadong mainitan😁

How the branches of the trees shielded much of the road on the first images looks impressively beautiful. Driving on such roads can be refreshing, especially when a passenger. Great shadow shots :)

I really liked your shadow photos — they have such a peaceful and artistic feel. The mix of travel joy and care for those affected by the typhoon makes the post very touching. Sending prayers for everyone’s safety and recovery.
