Casting Shadows [Ripples etc]

in Shadow Hunters7 days ago

Hola!

A gorgeous weekend morning in DD invited me out to the yard for a lil sunbathing (to have a bit of my daily dose of vitamin D). There, I heard the clinking and crackling sound of the tramline below. It was busy, transporting stuff across the river (they had no access road over there).

Anyway, noticing the greenery in the surroundings, the bright sky, the flowering shrubs, and the like mirrored (reflected) on the car's windows led to a fun hunt.

The shadows cast by the shrub (Princess Flower) on the drum or my own head, for instance.

The wee hunt was about to be over when I thought of checking the cargo on the truck. The downpour yesterday afternoon may have done some magic (I was worried the sacks of fertilizer and such got wet).

And just as I thought, some rainwater accumulated on the linoleum covering them. It had some shadows in it too!

Zooming in, I found something even more interesting. Who would have thought a floating fly's shadow would look like this?

And oh, look! A tiny spider clinging on its dear life. Unfortunately, like the fly, it couldn't get itself out of the water.

And the ripples, whew! I was trying to make the fly move (it's alive by the way) so I could take a different angle of its shadow, so I touched the water, and bam!

I was amazed at how a simple movement in the water created complex visual arts. Thanks to the light, of course, which made those "Casting Shadows" possible. Accordingly, the bottoms of waves (troughs) spread light out, creating the dark spaces between the bright lines.

I wanted more, but the sun's rays were starting to sting (scorching hot), and my little boy was screaming (howling) inside. He wanted to go out too. Well, this has been a fascinating hunt. The hubby is nursing a flu, so we'd probably be indoors most of the day.

Wow! Some great shadow 👍

Thank you. Glad to have encountered them this morning :)

It is too hot here to enjoy the outdoors much, let alone sunbath. I try to sit outside a little each day under the patio awning.

It's tough when the day is hot; the sun's rays sting. It feels painful to the skin.

Yung water parang naging spider web hehehe. Amazing, bilis mo mg capture Sis😁

Hehe, oo nga sis. Na-amaze ako nung nakita ko. Video yung iba tapos convert ko into live photo kaya easier ma-edit :)

good angles and backgrounds

That is so kind of you, thank you :)
