Despite it's name, New Town in Warsaw is over 500 years old. it was the first part of Warsaw to be built outside the old city walls, hence the name New Town. Likewise for New Market Square in the center of New Town with the iconic St. Casimir's Church. the church was totally destroyed during World War 2 and rebuilt afterward
this modern puddle at the edge of the square is far more recent, though i suspect there have been a number of earlier puddles in the exact same spot with strikingly similar reflections as the ones presented here. the puddle has nothing to do with the well with a pump above it in the middle of the square where years ago there used to be the original town hall. the pump is a great source of drinking water for residents and visitors alike.
but the church is quite far from the puddle and to get this shot i had to wait for a parked car to move and stand on the road bent way down with my camera close to the tarmac
while i was waiting for the car to move i walked around the square, especially around the little puddle taking shots from different directions with reflections of some of the wonderfully restored buildings surrounding the square
so now i have several shots from the same puddle and can't decide which is the best to use as my contest entry
