Hey, friends of Shadow Hunters! We're resuming our usual contest where we share those wonderful shadows that give life to this community. For this occasion, in round #381, I wanted to bring you a long shadow composed of the plants that adorn my Faculty of Science. One of the many topics I mention when I talk about my chaotic city of Caracas is the perpetual struggle between nature and urban chaos: new buildings built on top of unfinished old ones, the same thing happens with businesses and warehouses. This urban monstrosity is fighting for space against many of the trees that grow in the city center, breaking sidewalks and somehow making their way through the city.

What seems like a war without quarter, here at the Faculty of Sciences, nature and concrete seem to be making peace. While new buildings are being erected for each of the programs where classes are taught, trees, shrubs, and grass grow around the buildings and plazas, offering shade and fresh air, a kind of green lung that protects us from urban pollution. It is in this context that I wanted to bring you this shadow of the different plants that adorn the entrance to my Faculty of Sciences. As you can see, there are everything from very tall trees to shrubs and even palm trees, all of which generate this series of shadows that extend along the hallway that welcomes you to the Dean's Office of the Faculty.

Que tal amigos de Shadow Hunters! Retomando nuestro acostumbrado concurso donde compartimos esas maravillosas sombras que le dan vida a esta comunidad. Para esta ocasión, en el round #381 he querido traerles una larga sombra compuesta de las plantas que adornan mi Facultad de Ciencias. Uno de los tantos temas que comento cuando hablo de mi desordenada ciudad de Caracas es esa perpetua lucha entre la naturaleza y el caos urbanístico, edificios nuevos construidos sobre obras antiguas sin culminar, lo mismo sucede con los negocios y depósitos de mercancías, ese engendro urbanístico se encuentra luchando por el espacio contra muchos de los árboles que crecen en el centro de la ciudad, rompiendo aceras y de alguna manera abriéndose paso por la ciudad.

Lo que parece una guerra sin cuartel, aquí en la Facultad de Ciencias la naturaleza y el concreto parecen hacer las paces, mientras se levantan edificios nuevos que corresponden a cada una de las carreras que imparten clases, los arboles, arbustos y hierbas crecen rodeando los edificios y plazas ofreciendo sobra y aire fresco, una especie de pulmón vegetal que nos protege de la polución urbana. Es en ese contexto les he querido traer esta sombra de las distintas plantas que adornan la entrada de mi Facultad de Ciencias, como pueden ver hay desde árboles muy altos, pasando por arbustos y hasta palmeras, todas ellas generan este collage de sombras que se extienden a lo largo del pasillo que da la bienvenida al decanato de la facultad.
