My cycling accident.

in Cycling9 months ago

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. While growing up, it took time before I finally owned a bicycle of my own. I always stick with friends who already own a bicycle just so I get to ride whenever they are tired or just want me to ride. I learned how to ride a bicycle without even owning one. My parents tried to stop me from following them around, but all the beatings did not deter me, as I found joy in following the bike owners around.

Despite all the beating and scolding from my parents It still did not stop me from following the boys with cycles around; it did not only make me happy, but I get the opportunity to ride a cycle every now and then when I follow them around. My parents saw things were not going to change and gave me a task: if I finish in the top 5 in my class, then I will get to own a cycle of my own. That night was one of the best nights of my life. I reduced the rate at which I followed the cycle owners around as I had to make time to study.

I ended up in the top 5 in my class at the end of the session, and it was left for them to live up to their own end of the bargain, which they did after a few weeks. Finally a cycle owner, now I don't follow cycle owners on foot but on my own cycle. My joy knew no bounds. If it were possible for me, I'd be sleeping on my cycle, and I don't care what anyone has to say about it. I had sleepless nights for the first two days, all out of excitement, as every now and then I was going to stare at my bicycle and where it was parked.

If it were possible for me to bring it into the living room and park it there, I would have done it without even asking questions about whether it was the right thing to do or not. My joy did not last long; after about three weeks of letting the world know I now own a cycle, it was more like the world was not happy about that, and I had a very fatal accident with my cycle.

I was riding with a friend on that fateful Wednesday morning, and we had to go down a very big hill, but something surprising happened. My very active break decided to fail us at some point on the hill, and we roll down with a very high speed, and I lose control of the cycle, so we hit a wall. I fell to the ground and had my fingers dislocated, but I did not really feel the pain as I rushed to check my cycle, but my heart was broken when I found out the front wheel was bent, and to make things worse, the head tube was broken, which means my cycle can no longer turn left and right; it only goes straight and dies, not turn.

My parents were angry and vowed they were going to fix it, and so I went back to not owning a cycle for about two months before an uncle came visiting, and he pleaded with my parents to get the cycle fixed for me. After so much pleading, they agreed to fix it.

Hahahaahahh your blog is quite evocative for me as it reminisces me of my memories with bicycle.
You know what i really got injured many tumes to learn bicycle. I got bruise on lios , knees arms and necks etc😂😂but all this didn’t stop my spirit for bicycle. And more interestingly i learnt bicycle without getting my parents know about it .
I officially got my cycle in 5th standard. And i used to keep it shine like diamond all the time

As biker, you are opened to a lot of injuries, injuries from falling or even from the bike. Those days I had a lot of injuries too.

Hehehehe,I have been in a situation that's related to this, and I can say I feel your pain of Being beaten so just to stop you for follow them.

But then at that, the zeal of wanting to get closer to the owners would be more massive.
