Hello, today I continue with the second consecutive day of drawing with random prompts given by an application. It is an exercise that I have found extremely entertaining and an excellent way to strengthen creativity and connect concepts. I really like how the prompts are very creative and with uncommon relationships. The prompt for day 2 was: A gardener robot waters rainbow flowers with a watering can made from a soda can.
Hola, hoy continúo con el segundo día consecutivo dibujando con prompts randoms que me da una aplicación. Es un ejercicio que he encontrado sumamente entretenido y una forma excelente de reforzar la creatividad y conectar conceptos. Me gusta mucho cómo los prompts son muy creativos y con relaciones poco comunes. El prompt del día 2 era: Un robot jardinero riega flores arcoíris con una regadera hecha de una lata de refresco.
I started by making a small sketch of what I wanted: the robot should look cartoonish and childlike, with a watering can that resembles a red Coca-Cola can. I also gave it a funnel hat and long arms. On one of the hands rests a small butterfly, to create that contrast between technology and nature. I also added flowers that I will later color in many shades so they resemble a rainbow. The robot is watering its garden on top of a mountain.
Comencé haciendo un pequeño boceto de lo que quería: el robot que se vea cartoon e infantil, la regadera que recuerde una lata roja de Coca-Cola. Además, le hice un gorro de embudo y manos largas. En una de las manos se posa una pequeña mariposa para ese contraste entre tecnología y naturaleza. Igualmente agregué flores que después colorearé de muchos colores para que recuerden al arcoíris. El robot está regando su jardín encima de una montaña.
I started working on the background with some blocks of gray color. I chose this to create the contrast between an urbanized environment full of gray buildings and the green, natural mountain of the robot.
Empecé trabajando el fondo con unos bloques de color gris. Escogí esto para hacer el contraste entre un entorno urbanizado lleno de edificios grises y la montaña verde y natural del robot.
Now with the background and the sketch, I begin doing the lineart. I am trying to keep the line and the drawing overall simple to give it that cartoon effect. I am using Ibis Paint to make my drawing, therefore I will work with one of its brushes. Ibis Paint has very good brushes and the best part is that they are all free.
Ahora, con el fondo y con el boceto, comienzo haciendo el lineart. Estoy tratando de mantener la línea y el dibujo en general simples para dar ese efecto cartoon. Estoy usando Ibis Paint para hacer mi dibujo, por lo tanto trabajaré con uno de sus pinceles. Ibis Paint tiene muy buenos pinceles y lo mejor: todos gratuitos.
With all the line art done, I simply deactivate the sketch layer and start coloring. I will be coloring with flat colors, to which I will add shadows and some highlights, especially on the petals of the flowers and the metal elements of the watering-can and the robot. And that’s it! I finish by adding a bit of noise to better integrate the elements and an orange overlay layer to unify the tones of my drawing.
Con todo el line art hecho, simplemente desactivo la capa de boceto y comienzo a colorear. Estaré coloreando con colores planos, a los que les haré sombras y algunas luces altas, sobre todo en los pétalos de las flores y en los elementos de metal de la regadera-lata y del robot. Y listo, termino añadiendo un poco de ruido para integrar mejor los elementos y una capa de naranja en superponer para unificar los tonos de mi dibujo.
