Somehow it's Sunday again, it seems to come faster and faster every week. I am finally feeling much better than the previous couple of week, COVID still packs a punch even after years of weakening mutations. This week our number of participants is down to just 38. That's good news for everyone participating because your odds of winning just got better!
I started this little giveaway 70 weeks ago, and I never thought it would have lasted this long. My main objective is to help others grow their Hive accounts and also give back to the community that has been so generous with me over the last two and a half years when I started posting here. I'm glad you're all still enjoying the contest, and as long as you do I'll keep it running.
As the number of participants has increased I've been adding prizes and bonus spins to make it more likely that everyone will have a chance to win. I want to take a moment to thank @alohaed and @beelzael for being kind enough to sponsor some HSBI prizes for the winners of the regular spins number two through five. I really do appreciate your support!
And as always I want to leave more information on the other tokens that are up as prizes as well so you can check them out. I'm invested in both of these projects pretty heavily, just a disclaimer!
For more information on CCD tokens, they are the currency from @cryptocompany created by @powerpaul . Check out the website: https://cryptocompany.ceo/
For more information on BBH, a project from @bradleyarrow please check out the post: https://peakd.com/@hive-112281
Now for the summary of last week's responses on your favorite safari animals:
African Elephant
fity.club
By far today the favorite animal to be seen on an African safari was the elephant. These giant mammals are critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and the illegal ivory trade. The ivory trade has been banned world wide but still exists on the black market. They have no natural predators in the wild once they are adults, and are not to be messed with as they are known to kill people every year. I would still love to see them in the wild though!
Thanks for choosing these beautiful animals @borniet , @katriel1 , @lumpiadobo , @blitzzzz , @servelle , @sacra97 , @tengolotodo , @melinda010100 , @ronnie10 and @flummi97 .
Lion
3dhdwallpaperspicture.blogspot.com
This apex predator, unlike most cats, is a social species that lives in prides. They are considered a vulnerable species as their populations have decreased more than 40% since the early 1990's. Habitat loss and poaching have played a big part of this population loss. Interestingly, lions used to live all the way north to southeastern Europe and into India. I learned something today! They have been kept in captivity since ancient times as humans have always respected their strength. It would be fun to see them in the wild, although from a safe distance. I wouldn't want to end up on the menu.
Thanks for choosing this marvelous creature @hatdogsensei , @ladymisa , @roswelborges , @silvertop , @okarun and @dailyspam .
Giraffe
a-z-animals.com
Next up on the list is the giraffe. These are the tallest land dwelling animals on the planet, and I've always loved seeing them in the zoos. It would be a thrill to see them in the wild! The species is considered vulnerable due to due to poaching and habitat loss. They used to be much more far spread but now are mainly seen in parks and nature reserves. Very cool animals!
Thanks for choosing these graceful creatures @ckjcn22 , @cositav , @olaf.gui , @hafiz34 , @ladyaryastark .
Leopard
commons.wikimedia.org
This large cat species has several subspecies, but the most populous one is the found in Africa. The African version is a vulnerable species due to poaching and habitat loss. At one time they were found throughout Europe as well but were likely killed off by hunters. They mainly hunt smaller hooved animals and primates, so monkeys are on the menu for these cats. It would be fun to see one the wild, I have to agree. It's such a pretty animal!
Thanks for this choice @longganisan , @gwajnberg , @henruc and @chaosmagic23 !
Hippopotamus
kids.britannica.com
These very large mammals are among the most dangerous on the planet due to their aggressive and unpredictable behavior. They spent the daylight hours in rivers and mud to keep cool, and emerge in the evening to feed on grass. I would love to see these too from a very safe distance, they have giant canine teeth that I would rather avoid. They too are a vulnerable species due to habitat loss, poaching, and ivory trade for their canines. And just a interesting factoid, their closest living relative are the whales and dolphins!
Another interesting fact is they can also be found in Colombia. Pablo Escobar, the notorious drug lord, once brought some to his estate in Medellin. After his death they were released into the wild and have reproduced very successfully. The government is trying to reduce their numbers as they are destroying the habitat for native species.
Thanks for your entry responses to @whywhy , @beelzael , @sylmarill and @hive-116692 .
Cheetah
king-animal.blogspot.com
This large cat is adapted for speed and is the fastest land animal on the planet. Reaching speeds of 58-65 miles per hour (91-104 km/hr) it uses it's speed to capture it's prey. They are primarily a solitary species but on occasion there may be a social group of a female and her cubs along with a male. They are active in daytime and don't hunt at night.
They also are a vulnerable species due to habitat loss, poaching, conflicts with humans, and disease susceptibility. I would love to see one of these in action in real life, it would be amazing! Thanks for picking this animal to @tortangkahoy , @florakese and @mytechtrail .
Not having time to cover all of them, even though I am tempted with some of these. I'll leave the one's with only one choice in list form:
Nothern white rhino by @alexvan
Dog by @monsterbuster
Rhino by @freed99
Gorilla by @ekavieka
King Kong by @yusmelys , awesome choice!
Meerkat by @rainbowdash4l , they are cute little creatures aren't they?

Now for today's entry question...
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
The Giveaway
I will be giving out one prize of five (5) HSBI. Second and Third prizes will be 1.5 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. Fourth prize is 100 BBH tokens. Fifth prize will be 250 CCD tokens. Sixth prize is 10 ARCHON tokens. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.
I currently have sponsors who also kick in some HSBI units to the second, third, fourth, and fifth regular spin winners. None on the bonus spins. The sponsors can still enter the giveaway, however, if they happen to win on one of the spins they sponsor I will re-spin the wheel for another winner. You can't sponsor HSBI units to yourself!
If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week.

How to Enter
Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question is: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
HSBI
If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

Choosing the Winners

Fourth prize will be 100 BBH tokens. Fifth prize will be 250 CCD tokens. Sixth prize will be 10 ARCHON tokens. And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?
