Safari In Fantasy Land | LMAC FreeStyle Collage No. 120

For my current freestyle collage theme, I wanted to portray a female safari guide. The theme is a fantasy journey of discover in the wild. The female is summoning all who will be taking the tour. An odd group interested in exploring the area. She's promised a special find. A pyramid. How odd?

The inspiration for the theme was free-sourced image of a female in a zebra stripped dress. Her face is turned slightly over her shoulders. My thought was to substitute her head for an actual zebra's head. Perhaps the other visitors won't feel out of place.

Below are my steps:

I located a free-sourced photo of a zebra's head on the shoulders of a man. I only needed the head portion, so opted for this image. It turned out perfectly, I feel. Finally, we spot a normal human willing to accompany the group on a fact-finding expedition. If she can overlook the strange beings in the group, then good luck to the young lady and have tons of fun.

With Canva, my design program, I uploaded all images in order to blend them into the collage. I leave with you my procedures which began with a blank, white canvas. I then added layers of elements allowed with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to remove backgrounds, resize, colorize, filter, duplicate, and reposition items.

The most difficult item was matching the male zebra head atop the female body. Only can happen in fantasy land.

How cool is everything that's going on in that scene, but her mother-in-law's head perched on her shoulders is a very imposing, fantastical and even somewhat psychedelic image. I love seeing so many strong colors coming together in one space. You know how to express the fantasies in your mind, and you do it with such elegance and wit, thank you for sharing this ❤️

The female's outfit matched the man's zebra head, so there my mind went into that place and pulled out the theme. I love delving into fantasy with a bit of surrealism to make the impossible almost seem plausible. I appreciate your support as well as your engagement. This picture took you to a place that is my comfort zone. There is a freewheeling, unbounded character to the picture and yet it is somehow still tethered to reality. One foot in, one foot out. I guess in a way that's the art of surrealism.

Manages to distort without becoming grotesque or sinister. Pulls one back for a second a third look.

In sum...a great collage @justclickindiva 🌞

I view it as planning a trip to the Twilight Zone where reality stows away just behind the curtain of the impossible. The roles are reversed where a half human/animal leads an expedition to discover the unknown animal kingdom.
