I am so more than ready to get this winter over with! Not that it was a bad winter at all, usually the greay skies bother me more than they had this year...I already call that a 100% winner.
But now it feels like it is time to head outside again. I was in the garden earlier in the week and suddenly it felt like my living space had expanded in doubling in size. As in...ow yeah, there is more room to live, but I had forgotten about it entirely because I had been living in the same square metre for a couple of months.
It is time for outdoors to expand the horizon! However, in the morning it is still crazy frosty, but I don't mind that at all.
The sight of the frost sticking on things is actually a really cool thing, and it almost feels like a work of art. Not bad at all for just a regular morning walk!
Timing is everything
Now there is only a small window during the day that you able to see this really well. It has to be light enough to have the good reflection. But it shouldn't be too warm outside since the ice will start to melt in no time.
That means there is like a sweet spot of like half an hour where you can see these kinds of cool things, after that it will be like nothing even happened.
I enjoy seeing these kinds of things in my morning walks, and although doggo will just piss over these branches melting the ice away...I know that one also likes running around through frozen fields.
That being said....It is really time for the frost to go and to give room again for the gardners. I have been making a lot of small seedlings in the house and it feels like they want to head outside again for better growing.
Although the sweet spot of putting stuff in the ground here in the Netherlands is only after 16th of May...I could still already start with hardning off the plants before that so they get a lot more sturdy.
That is a bit early in this phase however. Even though frosty will bug out after today, still the night time temperatures are a bit too brutal for all of this to start already. Hey a girl can be enthusiastic right?

Well actually, usually here in the Netherlands when you have this kind of frost, it means the sky is clear because cold and frosty and that means in general when you see these kinds of icy creations...It is going to be a beautiful day!
Exactly as it is this time around. Time to hit outside again and spot more coolness. Buhbyeeee winter time!
