Hello, family!!! If anyone has followed my blog, you've surely noticed that sparrows are recurring symbols in my creative work, especially as part of the poetry I try to write. The truth is, I have a special connection with these little birds. They are a part of me, with their chirping that awakens me every day, and they remind me of the sound of life and, above all, of my childhood.
Therefore, today I decided to use one of these winged beings as the motif for this kind of portrait. To further identify the connection, I present the little bird in close contact, perched on my finger, in identity with my emotion.
In relation to this project, I want to say that a few days ago, in a comment on my Spring drawings @sirfx wondered why I prefer the pencil technique over cardboard and the lack of color. The truth is, I prefer that over other techniques, and I'm also suffering from an allergic reaction in my hands that prevents me from using pigments for a while. However, today I decided to venture into watercolor to achieve certain effects on the bird's feathers, a very specific treatment, as you can see in the photographs. I then reinforced the visual texture with colored pencils.

Hola, familia!!!
Si alguien ha seguido mi blog seguramente habrá notado que los gorriones son símbolos recurrentes en mi obra creativa, sobre todo como parte de la poesía que intento escribir.
Lo cierto es que con estas avecillas tengo una conexión especial, son parte de mí, con su gorgear despierto cada día y me recuerdan el sonido de la vida y sobre todo de mi infancia.
Por ello, hoy decidí tomar a uno de esos seres alados como motivo de esta suerte de retrato. Para identificar más la conexión presento al pajarillo en contacto cercano, posado sobre mi dedo, en identidad con mi emoción.
En relación con el presente proyecto quiero decir que hace unos días @sirfx me preguntaba, en un comentario a mis dibujo sobre la Primavera, la razón para preferir la técnica del lápiz sobre la cartulina y el no empleo del color. Lo cierto es que prefiero esa sobre otras técnicas y que, además, estoy sufriendo de un proceso alérgico en mis manos que me impide usar los pigmentos por un tiempo. Sin embargo, hoy decidí aventurarme a trabajar con la acuarela para lograr ciertos efectos en las plumas del ave, un tratamiento muy puntual como pueden apreciar en las fotografías. Luego reforcé la textura visual con lápices de color.
