GREETINGS COMMUNITY
Today I want to share with you the last room of the Tomás Romay museum which I visited last weekend and about which I have already published two posts here I leave you the link 1 link 2 and today I will tell you about the last and most impressive room, and that is the ethnography room.
The tour begins with pre-Columbian Mayan, Aztec and Inca paintings.
Belongings of these tribes included the mecate Mexico, which they used to convert the grains into powders and make pastes, today, currently the mortar.
Here we have some pots made by them, as well as idols.
Here we find the mummies belonging to the Anasazi tribe, which are in fetal position, as they were mummified in the same position in which they were born.
mummified in the same position in which they came into the world.
Reduced human head belonging to the Chimú, this for them was a symbol of power and authority, the more heads they had, the more battles they had won.
And now we will be observing the Egyptian funerary art.
This is the only Egyptian mummy in Cuba, bought by Emilio Bacardi at a cost of 500 pesos, female and more than 2000 years old, which could have been a priestess or someone of the noble class and to enter the country, entered through the Duana as salted meat.
And here we have the coffin where the life of the person was detailed with hieroglyphic symbols.
And this is the base of the coffin and with it we finish the tour of the museum.
Very interesting tour and of great historical value since it treasures a wealth of knowledge and historical evidence that has been passed from generation to generation until today, preserving a heritage treasure and I hope that future generations will also know how to take care of it.
I really enjoyed visiting the museum, that is why one of the plans for next year is to continue visiting museums since the city of Santiago de Cuba is the one with the most museums in Cuba.
If you enjoyed it as much as I did, I can only invite you to leave me your comments.
