What version of Hive would you like to enjoy?

in LeoFinance2 months ago

I recently saw a post in which a guy asked whether or not he should power up his 100K Hive. He stated that some people may call him an idiot if he does so, but he wants to power them up because he is emotionally attached to the chain and feels at home here, and he also wants to use the stake to support some community projects.

Interestingly, this is similar to a chicken and egg situation. The universe ensures that we cannot have our eggs and eat them; God limits us because limitlessness creates a vacuum and allows people to achieve levels of perfection that disrupt the world's balance.

I apologize for the odd analogy.

What I am trying to say is that deciding whether to stake or sell your Hive is always a difficult decision for some people, and I do not think this is unusual; it is a common occurrence.

People want to take risks that pay without the possibility of consequences, which means throwing your net in different oceans and catching fish everywhere while staying in one place.
We know that this is not possible.

Those who might call this guy an idiot for wanting to stake his Hive are most likely those who do not have a stake themselves. On the other hand, people with a stake will advise this guy to stake. What this shows is that people don't want what they don't have to do well without them.

For example, when someone leaves a job, perhaps because they were fired for bad behavior, they may wish the company would burn down because they are no longer employed there. Most people with stakes appear to want the platform to succeed, not out of altruism, but because they stand to benefit significantly. While it appears selfish on the surface, it is not. When they thrive, Hive thrives, and everyone benefits.

Unfortunately, humans have a tendency to be like this.

I have seen a lot of people power down simply because one whale is downvoting them, and then they tag the chain as an evil place full of censorship, forgetting that the ideas or thoughts of one person do not represent those of all.

There are also those who power down because they did not believe Hive would do well in the long run; these people will silently wish Hive did not do well, not because they want to be right, but because if Hive eventually does well contrary to their predictions, they will not only miss out, but it will also be difficult to break it once more and convince the people who once supported them that they are sorry and they were wrong.

Actions have consequences, and unfortunately, Hive is full of people who will not forgive. I know it is not the best behavior, but sometimes people do not forgive those who do not take risks with them when they should. Hive has a retribution rule, which is because it is always difficult to stay strong when everyone else appears to be backing down.

People thrive on the motivational dispositions of others, and it is natural for them to want to punish those who spread fear and hatred. I recall bloggers like worldtravelpro spreading a lot of FUD about Hive after he was downvoted for repeating content; he sold off and said he was happy to be off this place, calling it a sinking ship.

Unfortunately, after many years, he has returned to blogging, but the ones that did not sell will not allow him to earn any money.

He was unaware of the rules, and he forgot that Hive is not a robot, but rather a group of vengeful individuals. When dealing with people, it is critical not to let your emotions cause you to speak too quickly; the internet is not a place where you can un-speak what you have said, and web3 is even worse.

There are people here who would strip you naked, telling you about your past and what you have previously said.

For my part, I will obviously ask the guy to power up his Hive because I want this to succeed. This is not to say stake is not the only thing that actually makes people loyal; sometimes being emotionally vested can make people loyal, but when people call a man a "idiot" because of how he plans to stake his investment, it only goes to show that these guys are probably not vested either, and they also want these guy to sell off at this cheap price, so he probably will not benefit when the price goes up, and they are probably not advising him to sell off because they love him.

"It's either we all lose or we all gain"

This is the mentality in crypto

I have seen people over the years tell you to sell your bag and buy theirs. They want you to hold what they are holding, but not for the sake of love. No one wants your bag to be mooning when they're already out. Many people who dislike those with stakes want support for their content, but they also want those with stakes to cash out.

They want value for their content but lack the mindset to provide value as well. Hive has flaws, but they are not all negative. For example, there is no designated money for content creators, so you cannot simply create good content and expect to receive the votes you deserve. This is because there's no centralization to the reward system.

There is no ninja-mined account that distributes votes, and if you do not hustle and make connections, it simply will not work. I understand it is not a good thing, but that is how reality works.

Realistically, most people will be inclined toward those who want the platform to survive, and as much as you will hate them for being insane, when Hive wins, everyone wins

At the end of the day, you are the dish you want to eat, and whether you cook it poorly or well, that is how you will consume it.

I think we can all get negative when we are facing bear markets and forget easily the good times past. They say money is made when others are fearful. Rektember is living up to its name, fingers crossed for better times to come!

Very few people remember the good times. I remember the good times, sometimes we all just get too sentimental and forget how it once was.

Thanks for the Curation

If you have a valid REASON to power up, you will do it... Calling someone to be an idiot is childish, immature, and completely irrational... It's ridiculous to give that kind of advice as nobody knows the future...
Unfortunately, many people are lazy to research, to think, and to take responsibility for their actions... so, the easiest way is to listen to someone else...

I think the guy is just concerned that people who called him an idiot might have a point, and he probably just wants to do something he wouldn't regret later.
It's not like he's too lazy, I think he's an OG that has the money but really wants to do something right for himself and his community. I hope he would shut external voices up.

I think it depends. I think Hive is definitely not a robot and it will go up eventually due to it's properties. If he wants to stake it, he should and I don't think there is any reason to be turned away by other people's opinion. He should consider the risk/reward from doing so and make a logical decision.

Hive definitely goes up 100% but then sometimes we listen to people when we generally don't have the conviction or feel the same way about doing something. I hope he finds the voice to do what's best.

@bhattg thanks a million

Reading this made me felt emotional in someway.
Hive is a cool place for me and all I can say in this situation is that, "If you love Hive, then don't think of what others may say, just do what you can to make the blockchain grow, cos when it grows, you too grow".
Nice insight from you boss.

Thanks for reading, there's nothing really special, just sharing my experience and all that.

I understand.
Have a great day boss.
