Whenever you plan for the holiday, have extra 20% extra because that happens most of the time. For example, whenever I go to the trip, my expenses goes up by more than 10 to 20% than estimate. So usually I keep that buffer with me whenever I go for travel. I have seen that the unforeseen expense increases sometimes.

For example, when I went to Dubai travel, I estimated X amount but I have to spend more than X. This is because when we estimated we have taken some places to visit. But when we went there, we have taken some extra services or some extra places to visit and that increased our price.
Similarly, when we estimate the food we take the same amount for all the days. But for some days we went for some good restaurant and thus it increases the estimate. And that's why having the buffer of 10 to 20% is always good. Now whenever I plan for my outing now, I add some amount and keep that as the maximum amount. If it goes beyond thar, then it's a problem, then we try to restrict or remove some items from the list.
And for travel I keep some money aside every month so that I can go for big travel. Now if the amount is less than I delay my outing, whereas if it is above it, the amount left is been used for the next outing. So the amount which I keep aside have the 20% extra and if it is not been used then the same used in the next trip. So that's why having the 20% extra than estimate is actually good because then you will not go out of budget.
