I recently saw some videos on YouTube where they make use of Sugarcane waste to make products that are both affordable in price and are also a good alternative to plastics. We have to understand the importance of ignoring plastics. Many health problems are occurring because of the heavy usage of plastics. People don't realize that the problem is because of plastics. Microplastics keep entering our system and it is creating a lot of problems. The landfills are filled with lots of plastic waste, which is the major reason for this. In order to get rid of them, we have to encourage the use of non-plastic items.
Eco-friendly solution
The main reason why we have to switch to Sugarcane waste is that it is an eco-friendly solution. In many places, Sugarcane waste is only going waste and it is getting filled in landfills. In recent years, they have found out that this can be used to prepare many things. The good thing about sugarcane waste is that they are eco-friendly, and many products can be made from these eco friendly materials. Starting from food-based products to other regular products, people make use of sugarcane waste to make many commercial products.
Food-grade materials
Sometimes people pick alternatives to plastics, but not all plastic alternatives are food-grade materials. For example, we use water cups and tea cups. But not all the cups have food grade certification. They come with a wax coating that can harm our stomachs. Sugarcane waste is mostly used in many food packaging materials, and they are completely safe and have food-grade certification.
High availability
Sugarcane waste is available in abundance. We know how important sugar is, and making that sugar produces a lot of sugarcane waste. This usually goes to the dump yard. Instead of wasting this valuable item, people make use of it to create some amazing products that can be used as a packaging material in the food industry.
Multi-purpose goods
Mostly, we think that Sugarcane waste can be used only for packaging materials, but there are multiple purposes for it. It is used as a fertilizer, animal feed, and biofuel. In some places, this is also used as an ingredient in construction materials. This is also one of the hottest businesses if someone is willing to take it up. I guess the sugarcane factory itself should take this initiative to convert the waste into wealth.
