129 Years old Yogi attending Kumbha Mela

Kumbha Mela is a very well-known festival that takes place in India once every 12 years ideally. It can be seen as a mass gathering of peaceful people from all over the world taking a holy bath in India's sacred rivers. People from several parts of India and several parts of the world travel during this time to attend Kumbha Mela. People with different spiritual paths unite here during this mega festival and it is also very popular in the northern part of India. Still, people from the Southern region also attend Kumbha Mela as it happens only once in 12 years.

Swamy Sivanand Saraswati is considered the oldest living saint in India who is 129 years old. A man who has seen a full century. He received the Padma Sri Award from the President of India in 2022. He has been attending Kumbh Mela for 100 years. There are many people in India with many such miracles but this person has somehow had a good regeneration of cells and good detox in the body to be able to live for 129 years. He has claimed to be born on 8 August 1896. He gives all the credit to Yoga practice as his longevity secret.

I think that it is very hard to live for that many years. But when I had a conversation with my grandfather who was healthy till 88 years of his age, he did say that food plays a very important role and I see him sit on the floor to have his food and take care of his work without anyone's assistance. Though it is very hard to believe his existence for 129 years as people struggle to cross just 60 years of age, his strong routine and food habits play a very important role.

Swamy Sivananda Saraswati did the following 3 things to have this healthy mind and body.

  • Waking up at 3 AM every day, which is the Brahma Muhurtham, is believed to be when the cosmic energy is heavy.
  • He does chanting and meditation every day to keep his mind powerful.
  • The next important thing is that he consumes a simple boiled food that fills only half of his appetite.
  • He also considers the other food including fruits as a fancy one.

The biggest credit that he gives is to meditation, yoga, discipline, and celibacy. He has been the biggest inspiration to people who want to live a long and healthy life. He has also been traveling to several countries in India and has been teaching Yoga and Yogic practices to everyone. As a strong believer in God, he also mentioned that he likes serving people. 129 years is something impressive, i wonder if anyone else lived that much...sadly like wake up at 3 am is impossible if you work
