Me encantan los lugares pintorescos para ir a tomar café, sea sola o acompañada, pero más aún cuando voy a un mismo espacio y pareciera que entro a un lugar nuevo. Justo esto me pasó este fin de semana cuando fui nuevamente al Punto Límite ubicado en Lanús, provincia de Buenos Aires.
De entrada, Mr. Duff te invita a entrar, aunque la mano de la familia Adams funciona como portero silente (o saca borrachos, aunque nunca ha sido necesario que lo haga). Donde antes estaba el set del Eternauta, encontramos la taberna de Moe, la cual dejé pasar pues ya la había visitado.
La sorpresa fue que más adelante llegamos a la sala icónica de la serie Stranger Things, y fue ahí donde decidí quedarme a tomarme un café, al lado del monstruo en su máxima expresión y frente al sofá con las luces en la pared, a través del cual se podían comunicar con el niño que se pasó del otro lado de la realidad que conocemos.
El realismo de las figuras, además de ser de tamaño real, llaman demasiado la atención, y las ganas de sentarse en ese mueble, eran muchas, pero también me daba miedo hacerlo, no fuera a pasarme al mundo de Revés.
Cuando revisé el menú de manera digital, scaneando el código QR ofrecido por la mesera, vi que la promoción de la merienda con tostadas, café y jugo ya no se encontraba, así que solo pedí un cappuccino italiano, el cual llegó al poco rato, en una linda presentación que invitaba a tomarlo despacio.
Al servirlo, traen una cucharilla de mango alargado, con la que fui comiendo la crema cubierta de canela, como si se tratara de un helado, ya cuando quedaba poco, la revolví con el resto del café y lo tomé sin agregarle azúcar, para extrañeza de quienes estaban en las mesas cercanas. Inclusive, el mismo Dermogogon expresó su molestia al ver que no endulcé el café, pero para mi estaba excelente.
Fue una de esas citas conmigo que tenia tiempo sin hacer, y que necesitaba para darle un corte a toda una etapa que intentó destruirme desde adentro. Por más cafés como este, aunque creo que la próxima vez creo que mejor lo tomaré en la taberna de Moe.
I love picturesque places to go for coffee., whether alone or with company, but even more so when I go to the same place and it feels like I'm entering somewhere new. That's exactly what happened to me this weekend when I went back to Punto Límite in Lanús, Buenos Aires province.
Right from the start, Mr. Duff invites you in, although the hand of the Adams family acts as a silent doorman (or removes drunk people, although this has never been necessary). Where the set of Eternauta used to be, we now find Moe's tavern, which I passed by as I had already visited it.
The surprise was that further on we came to the iconic room from the series Stranger Things, and that's where I decided to stay and have a coffee, next to the monster in its maximum expression and in front of the sofa with the lights on the wall, through which they could communicate with the child who crossed over to the other side of the reality we know.
The realism of the figures, in addition to being life-size, is very striking, and I really wanted to sit on that piece of furniture, but I was also afraid to do so, lest I pass into the world of Reverse.
When I checked the digital menu by scanning the QR code provided by the waitress, I saw that the snack promotion with toast, coffee, and juice was no longer available, so I just ordered an Italian cappuccino, which arrived shortly after, beautifully presented, inviting me to drink it slowly.
When they served it, they brought a long-handled spoon, which I used to eat the cinnamon-covered cream, as if it were ice cream. When there was little left, I stirred it into the rest of the coffee and drank it without adding sugar, to the surprise of those at the nearby tables. Even Dermogogon himself expressed his annoyance at seeing that I didn't sweeten the coffee, but for me it was excellent.
It was one of those dates with myself that I hadn't had in a long time, and that I needed to put an end to a whole phase that tried to destroy me from within. Here's to more coffees like this, although I think next time I'll have it at Moe's Tavern.
