Pront: Un nuevo material.
Muchas veces, nosotros hacemos las reparaciones de artefactos, y las remodelaciones en nuestras casas, sin embargo, no es un hecho común, sino que son actividades que realizamos de vez en cuando, ya que normalmente nos dedicamos a otras actividades, y solo hacemos remodelaciones o refacciones cuando se nos presenta una emergencia, o cuando tenemos un tiempo libre para dedicar a esas actividades.
Y muchas veces, nos pasa, que cuando vamos a la ferretería, a buscar los materiales, con los que estamos acostumbrados a trabajar, nos conseguimos, con personas que trabajan comúnmente, en el área de reparaciones o remodelaciones, y ellos nos comentan, que ahora hay nuevos materiales, que permiten hacer el trabajo de manera más rápida y sencilla, y algunas veces hasta un poco más económica.
La última vez que me pasó esa situación, fue cuando una amiga me llamó, para que la ayudara, ya que ella tenía, una filtración, en el manto protector del techo de la casa. Y eso provocaba, una pequeña, gota que caía del techo en el medio de la sala de la casa.
Normalmente, cuando eso pasa, lo que uno hace es quitar el manto viejo, colocar un aditivo, que es parecido al petróleo, y que tiene el nombre de petrolato, y luego, se comienza a pegar el manto nuevo, después se coloca, un aditivo entre la junta de los mantos, y finalmente, se pinta el techo con pintura reflexiva.
Sin embargo, cuando subí a ver el techo, con el hijo de mi amiga, el manto, estaba en muy buena condición, y solo, había una rotura, en el lugar donde había la filtración. Y cuando comenté la situación en la ferretería, me informaron que había un nuevo material, para resolver ese tipo de situaciones. Y el producto, era una especie de pintura, que se solidifica y se hace impermeable, al tener contacto con el aire y secarse.
Finalmente, decidimos probar el nuevo producto, y la reparación fue un éxito, además de que el costo del nuevo material, fue mucho más barato, que el hacer la colocación completa del manto. Además, quedó material, para otras eventualidades. Así, que al final hicimos la reparación con el nuevo material, luego, pintamos de nuevo todo el manto del techo, y todo por un costo muchísimo menor, al que se tenía pensado realizar.

Pront: A new material.
Many times, we do repairs of appliances, and remodeling in our homes, however, it is not a common fact, but they are activities that we do from time to time, since we usually dedicate ourselves to other activities, and we only do remodeling or repairs when an emergency arises, or when we have some free time to devote to those activities.
And many times, it happens to us, that when we go to the hardware store, to look for the materials, with which we are used to working, we get, with people who commonly work, in the area of repairs or remodeling, and they tell us, that there are now new materials, which allow us to do the job faster and easier, and sometimes even a little more economically.
The last time this situation happened to me, it was when a friend called me, to help her, since she had, a leak, in the protective mantle of the roof of the house. And that caused, a small, drop that fell from the ceiling in the middle of the living room of the house.
Normally, when that happens, what one does is remove the old mantle, place an additive, which is similar to petroleum, and which has the name of petrolatum, and then, the new mantle is started to be glued, then an additive is placed between the joint of the mantles, and finally, the ceiling is painted with reflective paint.
However, when I went up to see the roof, with my friend's son, the mantle, it was in very good condition, and only, there was a break, in the place where there was the leak. And when I commented on the situation at the hardware store, I was informed that there was a new material, to solve such situations. And the product, it was a kind of paint, which solidifies and becomes waterproof, by having contact with the air and drying.
Finally, we decided to try the new product, and the repair was a success, besides the fact that the cost of the new material was much cheaper than doing the complete laying of the mantle. In addition, there was material left, for other eventualities. So, in the end we did the repair with the new material, then we repainted the entire roof mantle, and all for a much lower cost, than we had planned to make.
