Having been released from his present job, Joe left angrily from the company's premises. His next destination, he could not tell. He decided to talk a walk far away from that God forsaken company. He slowly went over how things turned sour for him at his work place. At first he tried to blame himself but stopped midway. It wasn't his fault after all. Someone must have blackmailed him to get him kicked out. Well, now that he has finally left, let the fellow take over his responsibilities and earnings as well.
He looked towards the busy park and saw some notices pasted there. He rose up slowly from his seat and decided to have a look. Lo, it was a job advertisement. He took time to go through every details of the advert. At first he was not convinced about the availability of that job.
Something whispered to him, "you have to give it a trial. You don't have a job now". Another voice told him calmly to look away and go home. But the first voice persisted. Joe took the phone number in the advertisement and paced a call immediately. A.man with a croaky voice responded from the other end and advised Joe to pick up the form with about $50 processing fees. Joe, knowing fully well that he needs money and the job badly decided to take up that option, paid and applied for the job right away.
He got an invitation for an interview just about a week after submitting the form online. He prepared very well and zoomed off. On getting to the venue for the interview, he saw no one on ground to welcome him. The address was just an uncompleted building. It was then that it dawned on Joe that he had relied on a false advertising to make the application. He quickly flipped his phone and went straight to the website for the job application and everything was gone, 'cant can't be reached.....'
Joe realised the futility in trying to call the number written for the job interview. He does not know whether to cry, weep or laugh at his misfortune. The little cash he would have used to hold himself pending when he gets a new job had just been sent to scammers. He loitered for about thirty minutes without seeing either other applications or even the interview organisers. He then took his leave.
