It was a difficult moment for Jones as he tried to process the whole incident. He is usually careful with customer's clothes each time he is done with sewing them. He even had to devise a new method of ironing that requires minimal application of heat on the clothes. All those tactics failed him today.
Jones is a professional tailor who is reputed in making fine clothes for men. Duke, a new customer saw some samples displayed in front of his shop and decided to patronize Jones. He gave him a material to make two pairs of trousers for him. It has to be delivered within a fortnight.
Like a pro, Jones accepted the job and give him his bill. Duke paid upfront because he does not want any delays. Jones began the job in good time and finished it. It was time to strengthen the edges....ironing. Jones usually uses lighter materials to place on the newly made clothes before applying the hot irons. This time he forgot, believing that the iron wasn't all that hot.
However, the reverse was the case. The iron was very hot and burnt the trousers. Jones tried to save the situation but it was too late for him. Greater part of the trousers got burnt.
Jones thought about what to do and finally settled on buying a new material for Duke. The next day he went to a nearby clothing store and got a similar material for Duke.
