The walk before Christmas . .

Yesterday my wife wanted to visit her work place to see how things are going.

She is still home on sick relieve due to her cataract surgery , but she thought she could handle it .

So i decided to bring the camera and snap some photos in the cold while she was in side meeting with her coworkers.

I took a short walk arround the building she works in it's a home for elderly people that can no longer live independend at home , some with altzheimer , others with dementia .

1 ) The elderly homes where people can grow old near the elderlyhome, still independent but if needed help is nearby.

2 ) dried up hydrengea flower

3 ) flowering Mahonia aquifolium in the winter , they suppose to flower in spring time not on 23rd of December.

4 ) even the Vinca was still flowering

5 ) Often used in Christmas decorations the Cotoneaster simonsii

6 ) More independent elderly homes , but no sunshine today.

7 ) the birds were still flying outside in the Volière / aviary

8 ) cockatiel

9 ) Nymphicus hollandicus / cockatiel

10 ) parakeet Budgerigar

11 ) and the last flowering bush i found was the Skimmia , also often used in christmas decorations.

12 ) Christmas tree at the entrance of the building.

13 ) More threatning clouds time to pick up the wife again and go home.

A pitched roof is used on a house for
excellent drainage (rain and snow slide off), better weather protection, additional usable space (attic), better insulation, and a higher aesthetic/market value, as it's traditional and often blends well with the surroundings. It's functional, durable, and offers more possibilities than a flat roof. source google AI

Lovely captures. Appreciate the care you and wife taking for elderly people at elderly homes. The cotoneaster simonsii with its captivating colour contrast is too beautiful 😍 hearing and seeing this for the first time.
