It all started with the arrival of my uncle, an electronics expert, who came to adjust my home's alarm system. Some sensors were failing, especially the one on the terrace, a crucial point for security! My uncle, with his extensive experience in alarm installation, arrived early and, together with my husband and nephew, thoroughly checked the entire system. They replaced some wires. A team effort for impeccable security!

Todo empezó con la llegada de mi tío, experto en electrónica, quien vino a ajustar el sistema de alarma de mi casa. Algunos sensores fallaban, sobre todo el de la terraza, ¡un punto crucial para la seguridad! Mi tío, con su amplia experiencia en instalación de alarmas, llegó temprano y, junto con mi marido y mi sobrino, revisaron a fondo todo el sistema. Reemplazaron algunos cables. ¡Un trabajo en equipo para una seguridad impecable!
With the alarm system working perfectly, it was time to tackle another pending issue. My sister and father had sent me some rechargeable lamps in December, and I still hadn't decided how to install them. These lamps, in addition to being solar-powered, have a motion sensor that turns on a powerful light when it detects the presence of intruders. Perfect for reinforcing the security of the terrace and the entrance to the house! I must say that after a few days I had to move them to a spot where they received direct sunlight; where I placed them, the light wasn't enough to charge them.🤭
Con el sistema de alarma funcionando a la perfección, llegó el momento de abordar otro asunto pendiente. Mi hermana y mi padre me habían enviado unas lámparas recargables en diciembre, y aún no había decidido cómo instalarlas. Estas lámparas, además de funcionar con energía solar, tienen un sensor de movimiento que enciende una luz potente al detectar la presencia de intrusos. ¡Perfectas para reforzar la seguridad de la terraza y la entrada de la casa! Debo decir que después de unos días tuve que trasladarlas a un lugar donde recibieran luz solar directa; donde las coloqué, la luz no era suficiente para cargarlas.🤭
Once these chores were finished, we headed out to take my uncle home. On the way, I took the opportunity to take some photos of the landscape. My uncle lives in Luyanó, very close to the elevated roads next to the old Tallapiedra thermoelectric plant, an area I always find interesting because of its unique industrial architecture.
Una vez terminadas estas tareas, salimos a llevar a mi tío a casa. En el camino, aproveché para tomar algunas fotos del paisaje. Mi tío vive en Luyanó, muy cerca de las vías férreas elevadas junto a la antigua central termoeléctrica de Tallapiedra, una zona que siempre me llama la atención por su singular arquitectura industrial.
On the way back, my husband took another route, passing near the Coliseum of the Sports City. This building houses the headquarters of INDER (National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation). It's a great work of civil engineering of which we Cubans are very proud, and I, in particular, greatly admire. I can't pass by without always admiring this unique structure.
De regreso, mi esposo tomó otra ruta, pasando cerca del Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva. Este edificio alberga la sede del INDER (Instituto Nacional de Deportes, Educación Física y Recreación). Es una gran obra de ingeniería civil de la que los cubanos nos sentimos muy orgullosos, y yo, en particular, admiro profundamente. No puedo pasar por allí sin admirar siempre esta singular estructura.
Back home, I couldn't miss my daily walk with Pupy, my beloved pet. I take him to a large green lawn surrounded by vegetation that I love, and so does Pupy; his joy is evident when we get there. I thoroughly enjoy the tranquility and color of this place, while Pupy runs around and plays freely. His favorite game is "I throw the stick," so I had a great time throwing it and laughing at his antics.
De regreso a casa, no podía faltar mi paseo diario con Pupy, mi querida mascota. Lo llevo a una gran explanada de césped verde rodeada de vegetación que me encanta y a Pupy también , su alegría es notoria cuando llegamos allí. Disfruto muchísimo de la tranquilidad y el color de este lugar, mientras Pupy corretea y juega libremente. Su juego favorito es "Yo tiro el palo", así que pasé un buen rato lanzándolo y riéndome de sus travesuras.
As the sun set, filtering through the foliage of the trees, Pupy and I started back home. We were happy and relaxed; we thoroughly enjoyed each other's company and the walk. Looking back on the day, I had the satisfaction of having resolved a problem that had been bothering us at home, and the pleasure of that return walk, taking my uncle home and the walk with Pupy, was the perfect finishing touch to a happy and relaxing day enjoying the beautiful sunset.
Al ponerse el sol, filtrándose entre el follaje de los árboles, Pupy y yo emprendimos el regreso a casa. Estábamos felices y relajados; disfrutamos mucho de la compañía y del paseo. Además, al recapitular el día, tuve la satisfacción de haber resuelto un problema que nos preocupaba en casa, y el placer de ese paseo de regreso al llevar a mi tío a su casa y el paseo con Pupy fue el broche de oro perfecto para un día feliz y relajado disfrutando del hermoso atardecer.
