The first thing anyone will first notice in another fellow without the fellow altering a word is his or her physical appearance, that is how responsibly dressed or shabby the person appears. Our physical appearance says a lot about our personalities, have seen a situation whereby some people were chased our of a place because of how they dress.
Sometimes some people dress neatly but what they put on is nothing to write home about. Office wears are different from beach wears etc There is a saying, dress the way you want to be addressed, this tells us that dressing is very important, if you want to be addressed rightly and in a respectable manner then it's a must you dress very well and vice versa.
Since childhood, my parents have been my fashion police most especially my Mom, she doesn't tolerate rubbish you all can trust African mothers. Mom would scream at the top of her voice if she sees anyone of us with revealing clothing or clothings that have inscription like signs, animals or any foreign language that she doesn't understand.
Almost everyone week, she checks our bags and wardrobes for any hidden wears. No one in my house dares to buy such clothes or accept it as a gift from anyone dem no born you well😂. Even till now that everyone in my house has become adults, such clothes are still banned and no one dares to wear ripped jeans too, she believes that in all you do dressing neatly and responsibly is very important and so it is.
I believe physical appearance is very crucial in everything we do, including when going for interviews. Your look at first will say a lot about you, no one dares to dress shabbily to an interview or a gathering of the elites and say dressing doesn't matter that it's his or her skills that matters, who does that?
Dressing and skills compliment each other, no one will want to have a skillful person who stinks all the time at any position in his or her company, so it is very important to put our outward appearance into consideration in all things that we do.
That's one of the major reasons why some universities in Nigeria that have professional courses like Marketing, Accounting, Law etc have dress codes for their students. This is implemented to train students in both learning and their physical appearances.
Therefore, I wouldn't want to change this system at all because I understand that our dressing speaks a lot about our personalities, the manner you dress will determine how people will approach you, take whatever you say serious and also give you the respect that you deserve.
Presenting yourself in a fascinating way in an interview will first of all capture the heart of your interviewer and they will be more interested to know more about you and what you can offer. So it is very important to know the outfits that fit different kinds of occasions so that you won't turn yourself to an outcast in such a gathering.
