Many of you are familiar with Ginabot from its early days; it was one of the most helpful bots on Discord for monitoring Hive notifications. It gave you the option to select the kind of notifications you wanted to receive from Hive, including comments, votes, downvotes, powerups, and even posts and certain accounts you have given commands to.
It assisted me in establishing in-chain consistency in terms of interaction quality, and I was able to easily monitor the accounts of numerous people by simply pushing notifications and having them appear on my Samsung. Ginabot was, in my opinion, vastly underrated. When I joined the chain, the first thing the OGs recommended was that I join Discord and register with Ginabot.
During some of the meetups I attended in Nigeria, I learned how to use Discord for calls and meetings, and I even tried some video calls, but the ultimate goal was to use a notification app other than hive, and Ginabot delivered. It was a useful tool that we frequently overlook in the ecosystem.
Back then, If you want to create a continuous flow of communication and interaction with your diverse audience, you must keep your communication timely.
Many people underestimate the value of timely communication. This entails responding as soon as possible rather than waiting for the vibe to expire. It was as if you were completely disconnected from Hive, but you can simply click the notification, respond, and return to your normal routine.
It's was more about the subsequent conversations
For example, I discovered that keeping up with the second, third, or fourth comment in a post's thread was more important than commenting itself. Discord is not as powerful as it once was. Back then, there were vote-selling schemes going on. Many people used Discord to keep their interactions hidden from the chain's prying and omniscient eyes. In fact, 80% of all transactions took place there.
Keeping Up With Tabs In A Timely Manner
Most people who received support were solicited in disord, and most romantic relationships began there. It was a hub of secrecy because many people did not want their transactions to take place in the full glare of Hive the Blockchain. However, discord is no longer as powerful as it once was, but tools like Ginabot, which has been renamed, remain relevant.
Unfortunately, their operations will end tomorrow; Neandral Squirrel did an excellent job with the tool, and it is sad to see them go. Buildteam appears to be discontinuing all operations; I am not sure why, but here's to many more years of the spicy notifications that Ginabot provided us. However, you can also choose to transfer to F.R.I.D.A.Y, which works well and has many users already.
Simply use the /migrate command and click the text that appears, and you will be fully migrated and Gina will be turned off by tomorrow.
Join Friday's Discord channel to set up any notifications you want. I still need to spend time setting up the notifications I want, and I have yet to learn how the command works.
