‎It is often said that the greater the circle of friends a person have determines how great a person becomes. There is more to life than just surviving, to reach great heights in life, networking is of utmost importance. Depending on the heights a person is gearing towards determines how devoted a person must be, no one can build a successful life without having people that would make some contributions.

‎One of the few places in earth that allows humans from different tribes and social class to roam together is school. The more influential the school is, the bigger the opportunity. Which is why lot of student always try their possible best to make sure they get admitted in a prestigious academic institution. It doesn't necessarily determines that a person will become successful but at least, there is a chance that a person might make the connection needed to build a successful career.

‎Throughout my days in school, the only time I chose the school I wanted by myself and also got admitted in that same school was during my higher national diploma. It is a known fact that a lot of students admire to go to specific schools but such things always end up to be just fantasies. There are a lot of factors that forces students to choose alternative schools different from the ones we admire.

‎My higher national diploma was a lot fun than my national diploma, I was more involved in specific life changing activities. I did my higher national diploma in Moshood Abiola Polytechnic at Abeokuta Ogun State. Compared to my previous schools, this school was bigger in size and every way possible, I had more to shoulder. Despite me being the kind of person that prefers my own company, I tried as much as possible to engage with people the best way I can.

‎Would I have turned out differently, if I attended a different institution? Probably. Everyone is a sum of their experience, which means what we are exposed to tends to change our lives in ways we can't even imagine. Until we experience something, we can't really tell how it will influence our lives and one of the places for a student to acquire experience is a school. For me, my career path kept changing as I grew older but my passion never changed. I guess it was one of the mistakes I made while growing up, I couldn't differentiate between what I was passionate about as an hobby and what I wanted as a career.

‎I have always loved farming and anything that have to do with livestock but apart from this, I also wanted to help people anyway I can to reduce the rate of injustice and inhumane treatment in the world. Admiring to become a journalist would have assisted achieving one of this but eventually I realised the nature of my country won't let me use journalism to achieve what I seek. It was that moment I discover it wasn't the only way for me to help people, I can still do that even if I'm an entrepreneur.

‎Truthfully, attending Moshood Abiola Polytechnic might have assisted me in figuring this out because I experience the short version of campus politics and institutional injustice enough to know I will be going up against in the real world. Probably if I never experienced some things while attending this specific school, I might still have passion for journalism or not because despite attending this school, my passion for farming still remained.

Indeed we are a sum of our experiences. All those experiences cumulatively make us who we are.
Our country is such that many professions that would be useful normally is not so here. It's difficult to fight injustice generally but it is much more difficult in this country

I feel like everything we go through in life shapes us. Be it school, friends or whatever.

I wish you the best

I'm glad you are happy your profession bro. Journalism is the art of being courage and fight for justice without fear. Best of luck brother.
