The idea of recycling is based on proper disposal of unused items such as plastics, bottles, cans and any other reusable relevant materials. To be reused as raw materials for the production of related and relevant materials. It has never been about disposing of unused items or dirt though, both might look similar since they both serve the same purpose. In a society with a working system, items are meant to be recycled based on it's category. For instance, bottles should be recycled together, the same should be done to other materials.
Is there a reliable recycling system in my country? Tragically, the idea of recycling is not potent in every country. For a country such as mine, recycling of unused items has never been our strong suit, as far as I can tell. We only try our best to make sure all unused items are disposed appropriately, even if the manner of disposal doesn't suit the preferred procedure for recycling. As long as unused items are disposed, it helps keeps the environment clean. This is how we translate the importance of recycling unused items in where I'm from.
Despite the fact that our idea of recycling is regular disposal of dirt and unused materials, we still fail at it. Our waste disposal system is a little bit compromised, I can't really be specific on the reason why. I don't want to go around pointing fingers but the fact remains. The level of focus and investment in the waste disposal system is quite limited, based on the overall outcome of land pollution we have been experiencing over the years.
To an extent I believe recycling to be an habit that should be cultivated by people but in a society where there is lack of proper waste disposal system, how then do you expect the people to even think of something as modest as recycling? Where would they get the idea from? Humans actions are dictated by the level of knowledge and experience acquired. Since recycling is not one of the experience we have acquired over the years, people around hear have grown fond of using other methods to dispose their unused items.
How often do you recycle? This question sounds a little bit alien to my ears, probably if it sounds like, how often do you dispose dirt? Then this is a question that is familiar to our practice in my country. I have already established the fact that there is no working or reliable recycling system in my country. if there was, it is probably located in the most developed areas in my country. The rich always find a way to make sure a working system is situated around them even if it means, it would be nonexistent in other part of the country.
Before digressing any further, like I said recycling isn't really our thing around here. Even the waste disposal system established by the government only exist in few areas in the country, that is why you see piled up dirt in some areas. As a result of lack of good recycling system and a waste disposal system, we result to the only way we can get things done. We burn our dirt and give out reusable items to private individuals who have taken it upon themselves to make a living out of gathering recyclable materials.
Probably in the nearest future, when a more citizens oriented adminstration come to power, which I don't see happening anytime soon, they might create ways of promoting the importance of recycling items, which would assist the citizens to cultivate the habit. The most funny aspect is that, for most people around here, especially the educated. We are aware of the need for recycling but then, how do we carry out such activity, when there is no available recycling system to get it done?
