Hello, friends, I hope you are enjoying a splendid Sunday! Today I join the Creative Sunday initiative, first Sunday of the year 2024, happy new year, I wish all the Hivers of this beautiful community! Today I want to share with you a delicious recipe, it is a cassava bread, this tuber, also known as cassava or cassava, is a true culinary treasure, versatile and nutritious, this bread that I bring you is a perfect fusion because it is crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside and also gives us lasting energy needed to start and end the day, ideal to enjoy at breakfast with a cup of coffee.
Without further ado, here are the ingredients and the step-by-step:
-600 grams of yucca
-80 grams of grated llanero cheese
-1 tablespoon of melted butter
-2 eggs
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 cup cornstarch
-Enough water to boil the yucca
-Vegetable shortening to grease the pan
*Sprinkle:
-Yolk of 1 beaten egg.
-Sesame seeds.
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝕊𝕖𝕡𝕥 𝕓𝕪 𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕡:
- To begin, I removed the shell from the yucca, washed and cut each unit in 4 to facilitate faster cooking. I put water in the pot. Then add salt, stir, and put them on the stove over high heat until they soften.
- After a while we verify that the yucca is soft, drain the water and take the pieces of yucca to a container, mash until it becomes puree.
- Grate the llanero cheese and add it to the yucca puree. Mix very well until combined and obtain a smooth texture.
- Add the eggs, the butter at room temperature, the baking powder and the cornstarch. Knead the mixture until a homogeneous dough is obtained; this dough is sticky.
- Next, we wet our hands, since the mixture tends to be sticky and we make the portions into balls. We spread vegetable shortening on the tray and place each portion of yucca bread.
- We beat the yolk of one egg and with the help of the brush we spread each portion of bread and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Transfer to the oven previously turned on at 180° Celsius for 20 minutes or until you notice that our delicious cassava breads are browning.
- After the time has elapsed, check that they are ready by browning the bottom of the loaves. Turn off the oven and turn it on top to brown the top. Then, remove the tray from the oven and enjoy it warm.
- They were delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We enjoyed them with our morning cup of coffee.
- A thousand blessings.
