Throwback to When the Lake Had a Shoreline (2022)

The forest lake nearby has always been my favorite spot—whether for a peaceful walk, a drone flight, a photoshoot, or just sitting by the water watching the birds do their thing. It’s one of those places that’s always changing with the seasons. In winter, the shoreline hugs the woods, and by summer, you can stroll out onto sandbanks that stretch into the lake.

Well, used to, anyway.

In the past two years, the rain decided to throw a house party with no end time. The lake, once 2-4 meters below the forest, now sits at less than 1 meter in places. Sandbanks? Gone. Nice little spots for photoshoots? Nope. Now it’s just water meeting forest—still stunning, but a totally different vibe.

These shots from 2022 feel like relics of a time when the lake offered a bit of dry land to explore. Nature does what it wants, and I guess this is her new design. Adapt and enjoy, right?

ITs been really insane in the past few years... And for 2025, it's seems promising for more of the same! The woods are flooded again, and I've never seen the canal at this height (although the elder of the village will tell you about "the great flood" of course ;-)).
Still waiting to really fly the new drone btw :-) Bought it the week before black friday :-D
