We popped down to our local canal to see what we thought was a Paddleboard event. As we arrived at the canal, we could see paddleboards lined up only to find out that the event was not quite what we had expected. It turned out that the event was just a rental opportunity for anyone interested in trying out paddleboarding. Sadly, nobody had turned up. Oh hum.
After our disappointed there was only one thing to do, so after a little walk we called in at Katey’s Coffee Shop at the side of the canal.
We didn't have anything to eat, just settling on a latte and a hot chocolate, which was reasonably priced and tasted quite good. It's a lovely spot, and all the food is homemade, and the only days it is shut are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
It's quite a popular little cafe and a welcome 'watering hole' for dog walkers, joggers and cyclists. Sitting at a table, you could easily spend hours just watching the activity outside with people coming and going.
Just outside the cafe is a lock. One canal boat was just manoeuvring their way through it. It's definitely a hive of activity!
