There Are No Fish; We Take Mushrooms

in FungiFriday3 days ago

Greetings, friends

Friday!
We have to go look for mushrooms. If necessary, then I'll find them. This time I will be looking for them in the Arkhangelsk forests, or to be more precise, in a swamp near Plesetsk. Has anyone heard of the Plesetsk Cosmodrome?

I usually visit these places 2 times a year - at the beginning and at the end of summer. Of course, I would like to visit here more often, but this is not related to mushrooms; it's related to fishing. I found these mushrooms when my son, his wife, and I went fishing on a lake in the middle of a swamp. To get to the lake, we had to walk through the swamp for about one and a half kilometers. There hasn't been a lot of water in the swamp for the last 3 years, but it still makes walking difficult.
When I first walked in this place, in some places the water was above my knees, and in others it was much higher.

This is not to say that the lake is large, about 700 m x 300 m, but when the wind blows, fishing can be uncomfortable because of the waves. But you can't hide from the wind. This fishing trip was last fall. It was not very successful in terms of catch. We didn't even take any fish home. What do we always like about this place? There are few fishermen here, and you can catch large pike and perch. But something happened. Our fishing proved to be ineffective.
Moreover, my son recently informed me that 2 fishing trips on this lake this year also did not bring the desired result.
Where did the big fish disappear to? Maybe poachers are to blame, or the lake's ecosystem has deteriorated?

The shores of the lake are low, and water often squishes underfoot, so you can't even just sit and relax. This can only be done in a boat. But our boats are small, and my legs get tired because the seats are uncomfortable. But this isn't noticed when the fish is well caught; but by the end of the fishing trip, you want to lie down and stretch your legs.

In summer, the night comes late, and it can be a very bright night; the sun does not sink very far below the horizon. This period is often called "White Nights".

It's already over 11 p.m. on the clock. It's already a dark night at my place in early August.

And the full moon.
Why don't young girls wear hats when they go into the woods? You can't walk without a hat. This is protection. But the daughter-in-law did not listen to me and went with her head uncovered.

A hut on chicken legs. This is a joke. This is the name of the house in which the witch Baba Yaga lives in Russian fairy tales.
This house appeared on this lake about 2 years ago. It was built by 2 young people. It's a mystery to me - how did they bring building materials to this place? Maybe that's why there aren't enough fish in the lake, because it's easier to get here?

We caught few fish, but we cooked the fish soup. But on the way back, we picked mushrooms and had fried potatoes with mushrooms for dinner at home.
