Sometimes, life throws at us certain situations that leave us speechless. Situations that leave us with endless questions, and you keep wondering what went wrong. Maybe people need to be more sensitive no matter how much we get used to a friend.
It's been over 4 days since a widow who lost her husband newly disclosed to us terrible news that left me devastated. It left me asking where human conscience has gone to, but sadly, evil keeps prevailing in our world today. So four days ago, we started hearing people crying in our community, and most of us rushed to know what was going on. It happened that the woman lost her husband. She started narrating the story of what has been going on for over three weeks.
She said her husband was an Uber driver, but then he has a very good friend of his who always comes to take him out for some drinks and an evening of relaxing. According to the woman, the friend is very rich and usually buys a bottle of wine that costs #500,000, which is about $400. The husband of this woman (the dead man now), always feels excited to go out with the so-called friend until that fateful day, when they went out without returning for two days.
Upon the man's return to his home, he started complaining of pains in his belly. The wife at first assumed it might be as a result of too many chops with the friend during their two-day outing, but as days passed by, the pain became excruciating. The man was rushed to the hospital, and they said it was appendicitis. There was no money for the surgery, but then, the wife picked up her husband's phone and started calling the friend to inform him about the situation, but unfortunately, the friend wasn't picking up the many calls.
The first surgery was done, and the doctors detected more strange stuff in his belly. That resulted in another surgery, and it was done again . After which the man started gasping for breath; he was placed on oxygen, and within three days, he died. Yet, the friend till date being the burial of the man have refused to pick up his calls.
He was the last person that spent time with the dead man now. The wife has been calling him to understand what transpired during their outing, yet there has been no return of calls. She sent a message, yet there was no sympathy, no word from him. His actions left me thinking why he is keeping silent. If truly he is innocent, why not stand by the family and comfort them for losing your once lovely friend, as we assume he was?
Well, something is not clear, but I am not going to judge anyone when I am not God, but it makes sense that we stay responsible for our actions.
Overall, the whole story is a lesson that we should be very careful with people we tag along with. Some are harmless, while some are not; only God knows and searches the hearts. To date the wife is still hoping that one day the friend will pick up his calls and answer her many questions over the sudden death of her husband. Hopefully, the truth comes out someday.
