Hello Hive gamers! Recently, more cards are showing up in the market driving the price down. It's a good time to buy the cards you want to join the racing game with Arcade Colony Moon Karts!
Moon Karts is a 3D kart racing game where players race, customize karts with NFTs and earn rewards. Compete and upgrade your karts with Tech Cards and Power-Ups to climb the leaderboards and win COLONY tokens. Moon Karts is built by the creative team from #splinterlands, it's fun and #play2earn.
To start playing Moon Karts, players need a racing set-up basically composed of a kart and a driver. Additionally we can also include power-ups, tech cards and accessories to have more competitive stats.
In terms of cost versus performance, the epic racing kart Quasar Sport is my favorite. It delivers great stats at affordable costs compared to legendary cards. When I first started writing about Moon Karts, there were only a few Quasar Sport available and the regular foil cost around $7. Now there are more in the market for half the price and even a gold foil has shown up for $29. I wrote some "build a kart" posts before and now let's build one with the Quasar Sport gold foil as a base.
Kart: Gold Foil Quasar Sport $29
The kart is the key NFT when building your racing setup. Its rarity and level determine how many Tech Cards, Power-Ups, and Accessories you can equip. The higher the rarity and level, the more customization options you get, boosting your racing stats. For the kart, I highly recommend the Quasar Sport. The Gold Foil Quasar Sport is at level two and boasts of Speed 122.3, Acceleration, Handling and Health of 68.2 Compare this to a level one legendary card that cost $75 per BCX and you'll see that the Quasar Sport's stats are not left behind.
Driver: Blaze $1.94
Inspite of his name, Blaze's best stats are not speed and acceleration but health and handling. The Quasar Sport already has great speed and acceleration stats so let's choose a driver that will give it more health and handling to balance out its stats.
Tech Cards: $5.73
Tech Cards enhance a kart’s stats such as speed, acceleration, health, and handling. You can equip up to three Tech Cards on a single kart.
Engine Enhancement $1.94 | Tire Upgrade $1.90 | Reinforced Body $1.89 |

An Engine Enhancement card (1 BCX) is priced at $1.94 and boosts speed by 62.6 along with an acceleration increase of 3.5. The Tire Upgrade card, costing $1.9, adds 13.5 to speed, 3.3 to acceleration, and significantly improves handling by 48.8. Meanwhile, the Reinforced Body card, priced at $1.89, enhances health significantly by 48.8 and provides a slight acceleration boost of 3.3. Altogether, these three tech cards total $5.73.
Accessories $7.72
Like Tech Cards, accessories boost a kart’s stats, including speed, health, acceleration, and handling. Each kart can equip up to three accessories.
Corner Demon $2.24 | Jet Flow $2.74 | Steady Spin $2.74 |

An epic Corner Demon, available in the market for $2.24, enhances the kart’s stability by increasing handling by 2.3. Epic Jet Flow, priced at $2.74, provides a speed boost of 9.2, while an Epic Steady Spin, costing $2.74, improves acceleration by 6.3. The combined cost for all three is $7.72.
Power Ups
Power Ups are offensive and defensive tools you can equip on your kart to disable opponents or protect yourself from incoming attacks. Each Power Up offers limited-time protection or impact. While I chose not to include Power Ups in my build, you're free to add them if you prefer. All Power Ups are common cards, but they tend to be pricey, ranging from $3 to $5 each. A kart can carry up to five Power Ups at once.

Overall Kart Stats and Cost $44.39
The build I’ve recommended comes to a total of $44.39, based on current market prices. This racing setup delivers 226 speed, 155 health, 140 handling, and 91 acceleration. You can tweak these stats by experimenting with different drivers, card rarities, and levels but in my opinion, the kart itself offers the best performance for its cost.
Drop a comment with your ideal racing setup, and I’ll calculate the total cost and overall stats then feature it in my next post!
